Tea bag folding

I made this card a long time ago but I have never posted it on my blog because I could never get a good photo of it but it is always a popular card in my sample box and many people ask questions about it. I was asked to do teabag folding for a technique class… It sent chills down my spine when I was asked… I have never been a fan of teabag folding but I tried to keep it elegant…. what is more elegant then clean black and white.

The tiles are stamped images from “mostly flowers” and I punched out each tile with 32mm Square punch. Each diamond has 4 tiles which I have folded in this way:

I suggest giving teabag folding ago it is a great technique which I now really like, I would love to see what you create if you give it ago.

Thanks for stopping by.

wow Teneale, no wonder this is a fave, it’s stunning! That’s a very effective stamp to use with the technique. Is it just stamped on Whisper White? I had thought cardstock would be too thick, but the WW is a bit thinner and it is a pretty simple fold

Teneale says:

Hi Carol

Yes it is stamped on WW, I just used a bone folder to fold the edges and it was fine. I tried using thinner paper but the stamped image was not as sharp or bold… As you know WW is the best cardstock ever ;0)

I have always admired this card and wondered what the patterned paper was that you’d used – now I find out it’s simply stamped! As always, Teneale, I’m just in awe of your talent. Thanks so much for sharing!
