Lovely Thanks
Like most creative people I am my toughest critic about my work and don’t often give myself a pat on the back or admit that I “LOVE” something that I made…. but I love this card! I think because I struggle with masculine cards and I also don’t normally “distress” however this card called for it I felt out of my comfit zone.
I have used the classic “Lovely As a Tree” and I have stamped a flourish from “French Filigree” which I omitted using a Crumb Cake Marker stamped off before stamping over the tree. I have also used the “French Filigree” on the Always Artichoke Cardstock in VersaMark and I have also stamped “Wonderfully Worn” in Soft Suede to add a little distressing detail on both the Always Artichoke Cardstock and DSP. Lots of sponging in Crumb Cake then lightly using Soft Suede on the edges.
Inside the card….
All Stampin’ Up!:
Stamps: Lovely As a Tree, French Filigree, Wonderfully Worn, Vintage Vogue, Love Defined and Afterthoughts
Ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso
Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by.

CASE Study Challenge 24
I have to start the post with a massive thank you for all the well wishes I received last week after returning to blogging, it really meant so much to me.
Its CASE Study time again and sadly the last week for the January muse Mercy Kerin….. that girl is just so talented, thank you Mercy for sharing your talents with us. Here is the muse card for this week:
Well here is my card inspired by this week CASE Study card, I have made a long card using the same layout as Mercy used and I was also inspired with the dots that were stamped on the main panel, so I have stamped little heart floating in the air. The bird set I have used is from the current Australian Summer Mini called Aviary and I LOVE it, the quote is just so lovely and from Main Stampin’ Up! Catalogue called Word Play.

Hope you liked my spin on this weeks card.

CASE Study Challenge 23
Miss ME? The only answer I want to hear is yes {lol} I am back in time to play with my gorgeous CASE Study girls and get inspired by January’s Muse the SUPER talented Mercy Kerin….. I am sure you know her work because she is a Super Stamping Star, check out her blog here and below is her CASE Study card for this week….
This is my spin on Mercy’s card, I was inspired hugely by the layers and layout, however I did change part of it around as I have used an oval in place of the circle and the layer behind the oval is a top not shape not a square. I placed my bow in a similar position to Mercy’s and lastly was also inspired but her solid black image she used, so I based my image selection/theme around this and I thought the Eiffel Tower was perfect. I must say I am loving this card.
Inside…. Carrying the front through, I love the little crown on the top of the note.
Hope you liked my spin on this weeks card.

Popping in to Say Hi.
Just a quick post to update everyone on little old me and to say a HUGE thank you for all the well wishes I have received, it is lovely to know that people care and are missing me. In the past week I have received several messages from people checking how I am going and when I will be back posting cards….. Bad news I am going to take a little longer off blogging. I have a second surgery coming up next week and will again need to take time to recover. I am sick of being sick, I have never watched so many DVD’s or been so up to date on the happenings on The Bold and The Beautiful {lol} I have done a little {very little} stamping but they were for my wonderful Mum, it was her Birthday in early December so I had to make her a card and then also made her a little something for Christmas, she has been so amazing taking me to doctor and treatment appointment as well as taking great care of me.
I am don’t really show any of my magazine published work on my blog anymore but this month is quite exciting for me as I was published three times in Scrapbook Creations {Issue 84} and for the first time in Modern Home Magazine {Vol 5 No3}
I was asked to create something for this Christmas issue for Modern Home Magazine… I was very excited to be asked and I love what I created for them. Check it out on page 107
I have few and far between moments when I think I am genius but designing this project was one of them moments…. I used the Stampin’ Up! Pillow Box Sizzix die to create the pockets on the Advent Calendar, I have them open so you can pop a little treat or toy in each pocket. I will admit I often overlook the Stampin’ Up! Simply Scrappin kits but they really are great value and I love having the coordinating card stock, DSP and Die cuts, and I have used Christmas Cheer for this project. I LOVE the colour combo Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke.
I am very lucky that I do get published often however I have never had this any items in one issue….
For this set of 3 card I have used the super fun stamp set called Sparkly & Bright. In the magazine are all the materials used and steps to make all 3 cards…. check out page 66
The next project on page 81 is a home decor item, banners are all the thing at the moment and I am a big fan of them, so I made a “joy” banner. I must say the photo in the magazine is not very large so you can’t see all the details, if I get it back from the publisher I will take better photos and upload them here. One thing that made this project all the more special was working two of the most talented stampers I know Marelle Taylor and Claire Daly, the three of us were asked to do a stamp challenge using Contempo Christmas and Welcome Christmas. Marelle had to create a Christmas card, Claire had to design a scrapbook page and I had to do a home decor item. Its amazing what we all created with the same materials.
For my last Top Ten assignment for the year, the editor Ree Roffey asked us to take Christmas as our inspiration…. so I designed a Christmas card and talked but how I get started early in the year working on my cards…..but looks like another mistake in the issue as they have added my text with the end of Tiff Sawyer who is under me on the page…… opps
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to be back very soon
