CASE Study Challenge #74

Fabulous! Would have to be one of my favouite words, I use it all the time and I even have friends pick me up on saying it, they will repeat me they mock me when I say it or knowing me so well they say it before I can even say it is a cheeky way… I say it with such enthusiasm! I have a dear friend who will be 40 soon and she is very fabulous so I will pop this one away for the big event.

It is CASE Study time again, we are just over the half way mark with the January muse Jen Rzasa, you can see to the left her card for this week, I am very excited to see what everyone comes up with this week, the card has lots of options to case and inspire exciting projects, so if you have the time come and play with us at CASE Study. I am wondering can you see what inspired me? It’s pretty clear this week, it was all the squares I just thought they created such a wonderful feature on the simple card plus it is a good way to use up scraps of paper because lets face it most of us all have scraps that we have saved for some project down the track when you just need a little bit! Am I right? Great way to use them. I sponged the edges of my squares then added a little stitching and you may notice I have randomly stamped a light script over the squares.

Inside… I made a little mistake stamping the greeting and I inked up the edge of the stamp and did not look at the image before stamping it down… which I almost always do and the edge never has ink on it the one time I do not look grrrr! So I stamped the greeting on scrap Very Vanilla, punched out the greeting, added a few extra layers in a poor attempt to cover the unwanted ink. Normally I say we make no “mistakes” only creative opportunities but it would of looked so much better with the greeting just stamped straight on the cardstock.

CASE Study Challenge #71

I am playing a little catch up with this post, I should be sent to the naughty corner as this is a CASE Study card from December, the card was posted on CASE Study blog with the other DT samples at the correct time but I did not post it here on my blog, the amazing Amy Sheffer was the December Muse {I love Amy’s work, if you have been living under a rock and not seen her work before then you better go and check her out….it’s dazzling} below is Amy’s card that was our inspiration for week 71.

I am going to be totally honest, even though I think Amy’s card was awesome it scared me a little, I think it was that the design was so far away from my comfort zone and normally boring layer on layer style I don’t normally cluster my elements, now as I type I wonder if it was that I wanted to do a good job because Amy is one of my stamping hero’s, this was our last week with Amy as the muse and I wanted to do her card justice. Can you tell that I over think things and get myself all worked up sometimes, I liked my card at first but now I am not so much a fan but I do like the verse. I think it is pretty clear what inspired me, the layout played a huge part like Amy I have cluster the elements, I have used a paper doilies, a heart and Amy created pleats with ribbon, I have used that idea but used paper pleats.

CASE Study Challenge #73

Oh my, this is not a good sign for 2012 I was late with this weeks CASE Study I think I am stuck in relax mode after Christmas /New Year break and I am just little under the weather at the moment. I ended the year so strong with my Christmas Create Down then nothing! But I am relaxed and positive starting 2012, I had a great break with lovely sleep in’s, potting around, time with my family and waiting hours and hours on Pinterest. I did receive the best type of Christmas presents…. Yeah you guessed it Stampin’ Up! Product, I love having my Mum as a demo because I just told everyone to get me anything SU! and I would be happy, having mum order means it’s a surprise! In the past years I would order the items, therefore knowing what I was getting…but don’t get me wrong I still loved what I got. I was happy to play with new products, one thing that always gets me excited is new printed papers! I can never wait to rip the plastic back and look at both sides of the paper. The paper I have used today is a upcoming paper that is part of Sale-A-Bration starting on January 24th….I like it a lot!

To the left is the Muse card for CASE Study this week by Jen Rzasa she has a very clean and simple style which I am sure you can tell from this weeks sample. I just loved her sample, yes it is not my style but it has lots of inspiration…. This is what I was inspired by?
- Butterfly Silhouette, they are the star of Jan’s card so I just had to include this element on my card.
- Three, Jen’s card had 3 of three….. 3 Butterflies, 3 pearls and used 3 colours, I may be over thinking things at this point but I had to use 3 somehow so I have 3 images on my main image the butterfly silhouette, crown and greeting, I have stamped the script over 3 layers and finally I added stitching to 3 of the layers.
- The v point flag, Jen has used this element to stamp her greeting I have used this idea for for a greeting but to add a layer and interest to my card.
