Greetings my peeps, I hope you are doing well today and if you are in Australia hope you are keeping warm! It has been a chilli few days in my neck of the woods… I always think this makes for perfect stamping weather, so I spend most of the weekend doing so and even for Mothers Day we spend the day crafting, I was joined by my Mum, Sister and two nieces {6 & 2} all sitting around crafting and chatting together, Mum and I worked on your swaps for convention which is 2 weeks away, my nieces coloured in and stamped a little while my sister worked on some digital layouts, Mum said it was a great Mothers day, quote: nice and relaxing with my loving family around {gee I love her}.

Today I have a set of cards to share with you which I designed for part of my Stamp a stack I am doing this week in my classes, I like the cards to use the same size card stock pieces with normally all the same stamp sets and in most cases assembled in different ways. For this card set we are making three cards using Flight of the Butterfly, Butterfly Prints and Delicate Doilies all in Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette which is such a sweet combo.

Here is a group shot, I may post the other 2 cards later in the week.

In yesterdays post I shared a baby girl card and also said about I have had many friends have babies in the past month, so I needed to make a few baby cards well here is another design for a baby boy, I was really happy with this card. I am loving the colours I have used Pool Party, Wild Wasabi and Pear Pizzazz normally I would not use two tones of green because I am funny about colour balance but it totally works {well I think anyway}. The stamp set I have used is from the current Australian Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue called Baby Prints {at the bottom is a image of the set}

Inside the card, “Cherish the Moments” is also from the Baby Prints set, the totally cute clothes line is from the Little Additions stamp set, I had a few little “errors” while I tried to <del>stamp</del> hang the jumpsuits on the clothes line so I ended up stamping them on scrap paper and cutting them out.

Happy Thursday my lovely blog readers, I hope you are having a wonderful week! Mine has been delightful just in case you are wondering, I think it is related to the excitement of the weeks drawing closer to Stampin’ Up! Convention in Canberra! It is one of my highlights of the year, catching up with my Stampin’ Up! friends, making new ones, finding out exciting news about a company that I LOVE, see and playing with NEW products, getting FREE stamps, tips to assistant my development and most important the make and takes {You know I love stamping}….. One other important highlight is swapping cards with fellow demonstrators, it is great sharing ideas and seeing the talent within the Stampin’ Up! family, I will admit I have been stressing myself out for weeks over my swaps deciding which stamp set should I use, what colours, how much work do I want to put into each card… Oh the decisions, well last Saturday I got myself to a point that if I was going to get them make in time for Convention to start on May 31st I needed to pull my finger out and design the swap! Finally I made up my mind and have started making them, I am only making 20 but they are quite detailed so fingers crossed the people I swap with like them. I will post a pic on here once I have given them all away in my Convention wrap up. I hope if you are attending convention and reading this you have also started your swaps, if not you better get going on them! {lol} If you are attening also leave me a comment so I know who to keep an eye out for!

I have highjacked this CASE Study post talking about SU! convention, sorry I really am excited! I guess that must show how boring my life is {lol} anyway on to CASE Study, it is week 2 with our May Muse Agnieszka Malyszek, to the left you will see her sample to inspire us for this week, again what a great card which can be taken in many different ways. I have kept it simple like last week and again I was inspired by the layout the a large white space at the top and a heavy band at the bottom, on Agnieszka‘s card the band looks like it is corrugated so I took this element and added the pleated and wrapped string around which come from the greeting on the corrugated layer.

The colours also played a part on my card with the Vanilla cardstock and Blushing Bride which is my FAVE pink of all time and I am buying up on before it retire’s in September {sooner if you live in the US or Can}, I added a Crumb Cake as the card base. This was also a good chance for me to make a baby card for a friend of mine who just had a little girl, really I need to make a few more as I it seems to be baby season at the moment and I know of 8 babies that have been born in the past 4 weeks.

Here is my card:

It’s Thursday again so that means it’s CASE Study time and it is also a fresh month so we have a new muse to inspire us for May, over on the CASE Study blog Chupa had put up a hint, did you guess the designer? Well please welcome Agnieszka Malyszek she has a fabulous clean style and a great eye of colours, my cards are going to follow Agnieszka‘s clean style this month and I am excited.

To the left is the muse sample for this week, it’s a wonderful card to take inspiration from with the colourful letters, the greeting reading vertical along the left of the card, the strong black background with a damask design or that could be even taken as tone on tone! I could just carry on for hours with the elements to inspire from the sample.

I think it is pretty clear what inspired me? Yes it was the background, I have sheet of this black flock paper from the Mocha Morning Specialty Paper pack on page 127 of the Australian Catalogue. I have to admit I have a terrible habit with printed papers that are really pretty or different, I think they are so nice I don’t want to cut them up and use them, I put them in a draw saving them for a special card that I may never make! I have decided I need to start using them so with a deep deep breathe I cut my sheet of Black flock to create this card. I have kept the design simple like Agnieszka and changed my card to landscape with the greeting running along the bottom.

I have missed all of the challenge for April so far as I needed to take some time off, I was so disappointed that I was missing the first three weeks as one of my favourite all time stampers was the April Muse, Laurie Schmidlin I found her on Splitcoast Stampers when I was a fresh little {or not so little} Stampin’ Up! Demo almost 6 years ago and I fell in LOVE, I would look at her work and just stare at how amazing it <del>was</del> is and note all the little details. When I was asked to do 20 questions for Australian Stamping and Papercraft Magazine a few years ago one of the questions was to name stampers that most inspired me and Laurie was one of the 4 names…. can you tell how much I love HER! lol I think I have a stamper crush on her.

I was almost doing back flips {if you know me you know that would be pretty hard at my “size” but I did give them a try} around my craft room when Chupa announced she was our April Muse. If you have never seen her work you really should! Quick click here and hold on because you will be blown away by her pure talent.

Check out Laurie’s card for this week to the left, how clever is she! Her cards are always so interesting, I always need to zoom in to completely take in the details! Know what I mean? Yes, Oh good!

I was SO inspired from the muse card for this week, largely by the layout and placement. I stepped out of my colour safe zone and went a little brighter then normal using Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.

Inside the card, which is not that exciting but I do love a little pom pom trim and how cute is that owl.

This card doubled as card that is be made in my card classes this week as a matter of fact! We are using Stampin’ Up! Fabrics to create flowers, for this card we made a “Yo yo” flower which I hope you agree looked pretty impressive on my above card as a embellishment… Well as a strike of pure Teneale genius I stepped it up and designed the Yo-yo to come off the card to become a hair clip for a little girl and the card still looked cute once the clip is removed. A card and gift in one! Thank you very much…. I know so clever! Please don’t tell me if you think any different please, let me have my minute {lol}

Just in case you were wondering, we have hot glued a clip to the back of the yo yo.

I do have some room to Friday Nights class if you are in the Western Sydney area or willing to travel to Old Mt Druitt

Here are some of the details:

I like to save some projects for the exclusive eyes of my customers who attend my workshops and classes. This card I am showing today is part of a second run class it was SO popular I have decided to do it again class next Saturday, the class is based around using Hershey’s chocolate’s on cards….how yummy! The robots belly is a Hershey Nugget that slides out so once the card has been given away the recipient can have a chocolate hit {lol}. Don’t you think he looks SUPER cute, I know just the little person that will be getting this card in a few months for their birthday.

Just sailing in to do a quick blog post to start the weekend! This card would be perfect for a male’s birthday which is a occasion that many cardmakers struggle to creating. The set I have used is from the Australian Summer Mini called “The Open Sea” and the greeting is from “Perfectly Pinned” from the main IBC. For me it was quite a fast card to create I stamped many of The Open Sea images in VersaMark on the Not Quite Navy card stock and sponged the edge. The ship was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla and lightly water coloured with a Crumb Cake ink using an “old” blender pen, yeah I did say old... and dry! So the Early Esspresso ink does not bleed when watercolouring with the Crumb Cake ink, it gives it a ruff look also which looks wonderful with this style card. For the large square of Very Vanilla I stamped the “log” image in Crumb Cake and sponged the edges, I then crumbled up the card stock in my hand then flattened it out then stitched the edge.

Inside the card, very basic with light background stamping in Crumb Cake ink of the Log image from Open Sea, the other two images are also from the open sea. I have a little splodge happening from “French Foliage” adding that vintage look.

It’s time for CASE Study 81 and the second week with muse Laura Fadora, I hope you all popped over to her blog last week to check out her amazing work. I am loving her as a muse, I have been feeling a little un-creative at the moment so having her to inspire me has helped. I realise feeling un-creative at times is normal and most people experience it at some time…right? It’s not just me!

I loved, loved, loved this weeks card when I first saw it! It is using my one favourite colour combo White, Black and a Beige tone which I think is ever so elegant, so I have used Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Basic Black and Sahara Sand. I had not yet used Fabulous Florets from the current Australian Summer Mini {which ends this month kids}I think it is a great little set and one that I will keep for a long time now I have started using it. I have stamped the outline of the flowers in Basic Black ink on Whisper White Cardstock then taking inspiration for the chair on Laura’s card I have stamped a floral flourish design {image from Clearly For You} over the flowers using Sahara Sand ink then cut them out. With the largest flower I have cut out two flowers; the first layer is the full image; the second image I have cut only the top 5 of the petals, this adds dimension when the flowers are layered on top of each other. I realise Laura has not plain backgrounds on her card but I still create my CASE Study cards with little bits of Teneale so I have created a background by stamping the flower outlines in VersaMark on Sahara Sand Cardstock. I took inspiration from the ribbon detail, mine has only one flag tip and the other a bow but the bow is in place of the button.

As you know I love to finnish my cards with a pretty inside…

Materials Used: All by Stampin’ Up!

Stamps: Fabulous Florets and Clearly For You

Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black and Sahara Sand Cardstock and Sahara Sand DSP Stack

Ink: VersaMark, Basic Black and Sahara Sand

Ribbon: Basic Black

How scary is it that we are already in March! Craziness! I feel like Christmas was just a week ago, then when I started typing this post I realised we are up to CASE Study 80! WOW I say. Well speaking of WOW we have a new muse for March and she is WOW! Her name is Laura Fadora, check out her blog here at http://laurafadora.wordpress.com/ you will notice from her blog and even sample below that her style is different to mine, Laura has a very clean and less is more touch but has amazing design skill, I have always felt that you need to be more talent to create a “good” clean and simple card then my style of lots of layers and a little vintage, needless to say I am looking forward to March with Laura inspiring us.

You can see to the left Laura’s “cherish the love” card which is our muse sample for this week. How clever is she! I loved the layered hearts and stitching, after a long time sitting and looking at the card, thinking what can I do! I had a light bulb moment and realised St Patrick’s Day was coming up so I married this “Holiday” with Laura’s hearts idea to create a St Patrick’s Day Card! Now I need to find someone to give the card to.

Materials Used: All by Stampin’ Up!

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Paper/Cardstock: Very Vanilla Texture and Smooth Cardstocks, Lucky Limeade Cardstock and DSP Stack

I am happy to report that after a very, very long break I am now back doing stamping classes! I know some people are saying YAY or maybe that should be finally {lol} classes are great fun well I think so anyway and I have ladies who have been coming for over 5 years for almost every class so I guess I must do something right! The way it works is I design cards or a project for the class based on a technique, an upcoming occasion {Christmas, Mother’s Day ect} , a theme {baby, wedding or masculine ect} or product based when I show you how to use a product in different ways or even a stamp set in multiple ways, once a month we do a stamp-a-stack when we make 6 cards for 2 designs.

I pre-cut all the materials, I supply all the stamps and tools needed, leaving you to just bring yourself for an educating and normally entertaining 2 and a bit hours. Classes are from my home in Old Mt Druitt every Tuesday & Friday night at 7:30pm, Wednesday at 10 am and Saturdays at 1pm or you can book another time, I will bring the class to your home, min of 6 people for all classes. Bookings are essential

In this class we will be using the Sale-a-bration set Elementary Elegance to create a set of 4 mini cards that will fit inside the cutest little box.
