The struggle was real. Being totally honest this stamp set I used today was not one that I liked in any way, when I first saw this stamp set (Hey, Chick) I commented it was one of the worst stamp sets ever and wondered what Stampin’ Up! were thinking. Come forward to months and I held my launch party for the new Sale-A-Bration range, to my surprise (and I mean SURPRISE) everyone that attended loved the set, it has been my most redeemed item this Sale-A-Bration. With the fact that everyone has been so taken with this set I should use it to make a card, to see if I could change my mind! I have to say I don’t “hate” the stamp set as much, it was fun to use or I should say it was fun to colour. I used it for my INKspired Artists blog hop, below is the sketch that I followed:
So what do you think? Are you a fan?
It is only a small blog hop this week with 4 of us playing.
The next stop is with my friend Allison.
It was only a few ago that I posted a little whine that Easter eggs were already on sale, it felt too early in the year but really I should have looked at a calendar because it is one month, the 16th of April; I guess it is about time for me to think about gift ideas. Today I am joining my friends at Dream Theme for a blog hop that is all about Easter; personally, I don’t really make Easter cards but I always create packaging for the small gifts I give.
This year I am using the SUPER CUTE Mini Egg Cartons from Stampin’ Up! each carton will hold four eggs and they are sold in packets of 8 for AU$14. As you can see in the above image I have wrapped a belly band of printed paper from the Succulent Garden range and a little Sweet Sugar Plum ribbon.
Can we talk about this little bunny, I mean is she (or he) not the sweetest thing ever! I have stamped the bunny image on some White Shimmer paper and watercoloured her with Sweet Sugar Plum on the ears and bow (which I guess does make it a male bunny) a light shadow was added with Crumb Cake ink. Over the base surface of the tag I stamped the little eggs in VersaMark then placed the bunny on top with a foam mount.
I am not really the hoarding type but I think I may need to buy a few extra packets of the egg cartons because they are co cute! Now it is time to head to my beautiful friend
Patrice Halliday-Larsen from New Zealand on the Dream Theme blog hop
or go backwards to visit with the amazing Jennifer Pauli from Germany.
In Australia, you can buy your Stampin’ Up! shop online with me from HERE
Today I am sharing another card using Sale-A-Bration stamp set Reverse Words from the second release of items see HERE, which is one of my favourite stamps from the range of free products you can redeem when you spend AU$90 until the end of March.
I mean free stamps is always good.
It is two images in the set, I have not used cheers yet but the hooray has seen lots of love; the card I am sharing today was a card I designed for a stamping event I had last month, the four Saturday of every month my downline Barbara Williams (AKA my Mum) hold a joined stamping day. It is $10 for three cards, you float around to each of the three stations to create your cards, we hold the event at my home in Western Sydney and limited numbers please contact me to book; email firstname.lastname@example.org
The second stamp set that I used is called Confetti Celebration, I used the star image for the background in VersaMark, the Happy Birthday is stamped in Basic Black and inside the card, I have used a third image from the stamp set to say It’s Your Day!

I am the only person in total shock that we are in MARCH! Say what. It feels like I was just celebrating Christmas and now I see Easter eggs in the grocery store I commented in a class to my card ladies about shock in spotting Easter eggs and two ladies said they saw Hot Crossed Buns in January! I am like WHAT. That is just crazy. Crazy. You know what else is crazy well a different kind of crazy, the good crazy; the line-up for this round of the INKspired blog hop! We are all using the sketch below that I design as inspiration.
I changed things up a little, I say a little as it is only two things. The square became a circle and I flipped the element with greeting to the left of the card. A sweet and simple card.
Next stop on the INKspired blog hop is to the fabulous Nicole Anderson
It is a widely know fact that Sale-A-Bration is the best time of the Stampin’ Up! year, I mean hello “FREE STAMPS” the offering of Sale-A-Bration just got a little better with three new items to redeem free with every $90 spend check the new items HERE.
One of the new items is called Reverse Words and I have used it below, I am a huge fan of a watercolour look but not always able to achieve an “artful” distribution of water, most of the time it looks like a mess on paper; I had no problem with time around. I had a great time playing around with different options and getting inky while not making a mess, I have inked the image up in with Peekaboo Peach over the bottom half of the stamp and Flirty Flamingo over the remainder of the image and then sprayed the stamp with a little water, this allowed the two colours to blend together for an organic watercolour look. Hooray is a negative image in the stamp, so the colour of the cardstock shows through, I added to the greeting by stamping “it’s your day” from Big on Birthdays stamp set.
Here is the inside of the card, I used the same stamp as the front and just stamped a little section of the image to have a little watercolour look, the greeting is from the same stamp set as the front also which is Big on Birthdays.
This was a fairly fast card to create, have a look at the items below to see the items I have used. Don’t forget that if you spend $90 you can redeem a free Sale-A-Bration item.
