Day Nine

I was going to start this post singing the worlds to Joy to the World until I googled the correct words and realised I have been sing the wrong world for year and I was not even close to what it should be! Who knew the words were so meaning full I have just being singing that “Joy to the World, the lord has come: to sing and bring peace, let earth sing and praise the King, let heaven and earth sing, let heaven and earth sing and praise the King, Oh joy to the World, the Lord has come.…. I will stop killing the words to this Classic Christmas Carol. I am sure my parents are so happy they sent me to Catholic’s school for 13 years and I get the words so wrong, I am a little embarrassed that I am so dumb….I don’t think I should even be sharing this. Anyway all that chatter was about the card below “Joy” I have have used the same stamp set as yesterday Tag til Christmas and sizzix die to cut J and Y. I have used more glitter paper which I am a little in love with at the moment.

Day Eight

Are you on the naughty or nice list this year? I always think be naughty and save Santa the trip {lol} one of my favorite Christmas stamps is this one below from Tags til Christmas from page 24 of the Aust Catalogue, it is just the perfect greeting for many of my friends. I am going with the sweet treat theme here in day 8, inside I have a Ferrero Rocher. For those who are playing along at home and wondering how I made the packaging I have used the Two Tags die from the Catalogue in the same way I made the little Santa’s and Marelle Taylor has a tutorial here showing us how….. Thanks Marelle!

Day Seven

We are on the down hill run to Christmas! This time {as I type at least} next week it will the big day, the gifts will be open, kids will be playing, the adults will be lying on the lounge wishing that had not eaten so much at lunch {lol} well that is what will be happening in my house. Today as part of my Christmas Create Down I have Elf Kisses to share which I made as gifts for my little niece’s to give to friends. They are cute I think and I am pretty happy with myself because this is one of the first times I have ever used Garden Green from SU! It is just not my kind of green but it was a good match for the green kisses. I stamped a little on the header but mostly I designed the tag and headed on the computer… I am hanging out big time for Stampin’ Up! to bring MDS to Australia… Maybe I should drop an email to Santa and tell him I want MDS for Christmas {lol} I hope on the nice list this year?

Day Six

Do you have the Christmas spirit? Why you ask? Well, I have a little story to share with you. Yesterday {Friday} I was driving Bailey my who is 6 year old niece to School like I do most Fridays, we always have lovely little chats or sing {badly} to the music playing as we drive and it is always the best part of my day but this yesterday she hit me with a hard one, that bad I wanted to pull my card over and cry on the side of the road!
Bailey: Aunty did you know that if you don’t have Christmas lights on your house you don’t have Christmas spirit?
Teneale aka Aunty: Really? Are you sure because I think I have Christmas Spirit we put up my Christmas Tree weeks ago and I have lights on the tree, we are driving in a card that has a red noise and reindeer ear, plus I started making Christmas cards in July. I am more into Christmas then anyone in our family!
Bailey: No Aunty, no lights means no Christmas Spirit {said as she pulls a funny face and shrugged her shoulders at me} I don’t make the rules Aunty.
This left me in shock, being the last day of school I had made her gifts for her teachers so I played a large size “elf” helping her hand our the gifts… which I think is very kind knowing that I don’t have Christmas spirit! As I drove home her little voice was ringing in my head, when home I pulled out every Christmas light and decorations not being using and started putting them up on the front of my house, which was a massive job to get it done before school pick up but I was on a mission to find my Christmas spirit by 3pm… I am happy to report my lights are shining bright and that means I have Christmas spirit finally…
For day six of my Christmas Create Down I have this Christmas card for you, it was one of the first Christmas cards I made this year and it was published in issue 90 of Australian Scrapbook Creation magazine, I was pretty happy with the card and really like the colours. A card that is perfect for a special someone who will proudly display the card, I know the perfect person who keeps all my cards I give her and you know what she is my favourite person to give my cards to because she is always so delighted to open the envelope.

Day Five

In the worst off-pitch karaoke style voice I am belting out… You better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, I’m telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town! It is a great open to this blog post with a Santa theme, today I have a simple card that I did as a Stamp-A-Stack in November and I loved so much I made some from a few of my friends. Super easy to create I have used Real Red for the Santa Suit which I think is just the perfect Santa Red and Silver Glitter paper for the buttons and belt buckle.

Inside, I have kept it very simple inside the card and the reason I loved this card so much was for the greeting, which is a old stamp I had before my SU! days but I had never used it, I think it was perfect with this card. I have a group of friends who are all getting this card and they are just going to laugh when they open the card, I know it is not the greeting to give to everyone!

I made up a bunch of this to be given with the Santa Suit card from above and some are hanging off bows on wrapped gifts, I should of taken a photo of that but I just did not think! I have made them using the small tag punch, this idea was inspired by my little Stampin’ Bestie Marelle Taylor who a few years ago showed me how to punch a longer than standard tag shape by folding the “base” upwards with you cut the card stock and she prepared a tutorial HERE it is not for the same thing but if you follow the first 5 steps without the stamping and that will show you how to punch the tag shape. I have punch a little Hershey Nugget inside.

I hope you are liking my Christmas Create Down…
Day Four

Woot, Woot… Two blog post’s in one day… This is just unheard of! I mean I am maybe the worst blogger in the world! LOL Well I hope you enjoyed my non Christmas CASE Study post from earlier in the day and now we are no to day 4 of Christmas create down…. With this cute little Santa owl…. A cute little card I have used punches to make him the owl punch, the pennant for the hat and large square for the greeting. I am LOVing the glitter paper from the Summer Mini which you can view online HERE.

CASE Study 70

I just made a “quick” trip to the shops to pick up some grocery items to start my Christmas cooking “stock pile” but I was shocked at how busy the shops were, I spent forever just trying to find a park then trying to get through the crowds to get from point A to point B! I am SO a get in, get what I want and get out fast shopper! but with how busy it was it took me much longer then planned… grrrr and I think I will plan to go at night next week to buy the remained of the grocery’s for Christmas that way the other shops will be closed and only the grocery shops will be open at my local Westfeild fingers crossed it will not be to busy.

I should move right along to the reason I am posting, it is CASE Study time and week 3 with December Muse Amy Sheffer I said it last week and I will say it again, I love Amy’s work and how amazing is this weeks inspiration card she has created. I took several elemnets of inspiration from Amy’s card, to start with Butterflies inside a circle which you can see on the box lid and also on the cards I have three inside an oval. I loved her colours with the cream and black with a little pop of colour which I tried to use but I just a little more Perfect Plum then I first planned but hey! It looks ok I guess. The scallop along the bottom of Amy’s card inspired my scallop along the bottom of my greeting.

Later tonight I have day 4 of my Christmas Create Down!
Day Three

Am I the only one scared that….. School is breaking up in only 2 days for almost 6 weeks! but it is time for the kids to farewell their teachers they have had all year long and some kids they are leaving primary school for high school next year. When I was cute and little and attending primary I would gave my teacher’s a gift at the end of the year….. I think it was only one year I did not give a gift because I really did not like my year 5 teacher….I just wish I could think of her name! Anyway, I made this cute little boxes with 4 Hershey Nuggets inside for my niece Bailey who has just finished kindergarten to give to some of her teachers and office ladies, then I made a bunch for the markets to sell. It is match box style and I stamped letters all over the Real Red card stock creating a fun background, the apple was created with the tab punch, the seeds are the flame from the cupcake punch and the bird punch was used for the leaf. I think they turned out super cute. No.1 is from Grunge Rock {page 60 AU} and teacher is from For My Family {page 110 AU}. Bailey has not given these out to the teachers yet so I hope they are not reading this ….{Mrs Manning, Mrs Goodwin and Miss Scott look away} Smile…..

I know many who read my blog are teachers, so I would love to hear what you think the best gifts are the receive and tales of the worst gifts you have been given. Or if you have made something for a teacher this year and are happy to share the idea please leave a comment with the idea and if you blog yourself and have it post share the link.
See you all tomorrow for my CASE Study post and day 4 of Christmas create down…….
Day Two

Welcome to day 2 of my Christmas create down, I have gone from candy to a card but still a reindeer. This a CASE Study from a few weeks ago and you can check out the muse card, other DT cards and all the entries here. What is not really showing up in the photo is all the glitter that is over the card front, I clear embossed the main image add a fine coat of glitter then clear embossed the image again so it creates the effect of falling snow, even though in Australia it is Summer at Christmas time I still like making a few winter Christmas Cards as the remind me of my one and only white Christmas I have had back in 99″ when I was in New York…. Anyway back to my card I have brayered the background and stamped script over the top. Maybe not a card that you would make lots of but maybe for a few special people, I do have some simple cards coming that you can make in bulk.

Inside….

Day One {Rudolph Candy Cane}

Lets get this Christmas create down started with a fun and affordable gift, I would like to welcome Rudolph the Red-noised Candy Cane, I think this little guys looks SO cute….I have made well over 200 of this little guys to sell at markets in November and December plus orders after the markets if we sold out on the day. I will admit I have become a pro at sticking down the little eye balls now.
The idea come to me when I was looking at pinterest.com {OMG that site….I love it and I waste so much time on there} anyway…… I found in a kids craft search a similar idea using pipe cleaners, plastic eyes and a pom pom noise it was kind of cute but needed a little work so I went to my desk to create a Stampin’ Up! Style welcome Rudolph the Red-noised Candy Cane using my Scribbles Swirls Sizzix die for the antlers, the owl punch for the eyes and noise, the noise is cut from Red glitter paper. I found you need to pop a bag over his head because the antlers get all tangled up.

Tell me what you think…..
Just adding….. For anyone in Western Sydney who would like to buy some of these cute little guys they will be on sale at my stall in the market place at the Creative Spirit Center Minchinbury {The M home maker center off the Great Western Highway} on Friday and Saturday this weekend.
