Welcome to the INKspired blog hop for round 65, the lineup of INKspired Artists are Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators in my team (downline) we came together every second Sunday to share our cards we have created based on a sketch that I designed for the team. We all take a little creative license with the elements included in the sketch. Which I just love seeing the different ways we all create.
This card looks so good in real life, I promise! It is looking a little washed out in the photos. I had so much fun designing the card, it was part of a technique I wanted to create for a class. I have spoken before about returning to study as a mature aged student, my minor is Design Managment. It has been so interesting learning methods to inspire creativity within a team, so much starts with seeking inspiration from your surrounds. I have been using many of the methods on my Stampin’ Up! Bussiness when it comes to developing my classes and after almost 11 years as a Demonstrator I feel the most inspired right now. For this card, I took inspiration from vintage pressed tin tiles.
So I had the idea and a vision of the final look but how was I going to achieve the look! I headed to the kitchen for a few supplies.
I attached Kitchen foil to White cardstock using Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets it is important that the foil and cardstock are fused together, emboss the layer of cardstock and foil with Holly Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and apply a coat of white acrylic paint, allow to dry. I applied a small amount of Gold Rub and Buff to a few sections followed by a second layer of white acrylic paint. The longer the paint has to dry the better the final effect, ideally overnight before the final step. With rubbing alcohol and a cloth, lightly rub away some of the paint, I found it best in small circular motions best. It is totally up to you how much paint you remove. I suggest wearing gloves, it does get messy but, so much fun.
I have included an image of the embossing folder to allow you to take in the background texture, it really is the star of the card.
Here is the inside of the card, the greeting is from Watercolor Christmas stamp set which the greeting from the card is from also. I added a little strip of the design from the front.
