In last weeks Artisan Blog hop {HERE} I talked about how I was in LOVE with the stamp set Indescribable Gift and that I had been missing my mojo, or was it too many ideas for one one stamping session? Anyway I had stamped out a bunch of the blossom image and they have been sitting on my desk all weekend so I used this stamp set again from my Artisan Blog hop again this week!
I have white embossed the image on Vellum and used my Blendabilities to coloured the back side of the vellum, creating this fabulous soft effect. I embossed the greeting in White also, as I did not want it to detract from the blossom image.
When colouring on vellum with Blendabilities you will find it does not saturate through like it does with cardstock and also you do not get that soft/blended tones like when colouring on Whisper White Cardstock, you can see in my card below.
Next up on the Artisan blog hop is Vicky Hayes, someone I have admired for a very long time for her elegant and clean style plus for how regularly she blogs her amazing creations!
All items are from Stampin Up! and can be ordered through my Australian online store.
Teneale I think I love you!!!!!! you are genius, I would never thought of colouring on the back, have already had a go at it and it looks fab, love the muting. I really want to do this at my emboss resist but its not really emboss resist lol.
So pretty!!!! I love the effect of the white embossed on the vellum and then the colored images with the blend abilities. I might have to try this! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Soooo pretty! Glad you have your mojo back (though I never saw a drop in quality or creativiy!)
Just beautiful! Great technique to try. You are amazing, my friend!
I love this! So romantic!
Wow. Just love that effect. Can’t wait to copy it. xxx
Just lovely. Look like you mounted the velum to a whisper white layer and then popped it with diamentionals. What adhesive did you use to attach the velum?
Oh! I should have posted that, silly me. Fast Fuse can double as vellum tape, apply the Fast Fuse to the surface that you are attaching the vellum to, in this case Whisper White CS and then layer the vellum to the cardstock and lightly rub.
Oh, what a great tip! I’m always stuck with how to adhere vellum without adhesive showing through. Loving the beautiful colouring on this card!
Thanks for the explanation – I was wondering, too. Love your card.
Gorgeous!! Great technique!
absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful card!
Hi Teneale, I’ve been hooked on embossing since you showed me how simple the technique was & this card is just beautiful.
This card is out of this world gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. Must give this a try!
