The cherry blossom is celebrated for its short yet beautiful life of only 2 weeks every Spring, it represents a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. Personally I have always been taken with the beauty in which the cherry blossom beholds and also what it symbolises.
When I first saw Sheltering Tree in the Occasions Catalogue had visions of trees with soft pink blooming clouds adorning their branches, it was one of my first must haves. This vision became my inspiration to my card:
I started by watercolouring the “pink cloud” on watercolour paper using a mix of Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette re-inker with the smallest part of Strawberry Slush, leaving it to dry then stamping the tree trunk in Baked Brown Sugar, over the top I stamped small leaf/petal image over the watercolouring. The greeting “for you” was omitted from “thankful for you”.
The only thing I wish I never stitched around the outside of the stamped layer, it was too much but I was not re-stamping again. The butterflies are stamped from Perpetual Birthday stamp set in gold embossing powder, I love them floating off.

Oh my, this card is over the top gorgeous! I love how simple yet beautiful it is. You are always so inspiring with your creations. I’m so glad you are on the ADT and sharing your talent!
I love, love, love this card. How did you get the leaves to stay inside the tree. The leaf stamp is actually larger than the tree, but you keep it contained.
