Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop {Ho, Ho, Ho}

October 9, 2014

By Teneale Williams | Artisan Blog Hop | Blendabilities with Holiday Home

Welcome to the Stampin’Up! Artisan Blog Hop.

Can you believe it is 12 weeks until Christmas! I am in “full on Christmas Mood” making by Christmas cards. As soon as I saw the stamp set Holiday Home I had a vision of this card pop up in my head, I LOVE the image of Santa flying through the sky and the homes lit by the moonlight.

I have used a Brayer for the background, I masked the moon with a circle of vellum, I put a little snail adhesive on the back of the vellum then patted my fingers on the snail to make it less tacky then placed the circle in the location I wished to mask. I used to use a Post It note however I would find the ink would seep through the Post It, the vellum never does that.

I am in LOVE and I mean L.O.V.E with Blendabilities, here I have used Night Navy Blendabilities to colour the homes and to lighten the windows I have used the colour lifter to lighten to tone. I cut out the roofs and attached them with Stampin’ Dimensionals {foam mount}, you will see the the image below I have coloured the sides of my Stampin’ Dimensionals with my darkest tone of Night of Navy Blendabilities, I am big on all the little details. By colouring the Stampin’ Dimensionals  they do not standout like the white  Stampin’ Dimensionals did. Does this make me crazy?

On second thoughts don’t answer that! I know the answer 🙂 The wonderful forks at Stampin’ Up! have designed framelits to cut the houses, I will admit I hand cut mine because I did not want a boarder in this case but the framelits to make it a lot easier.

Well I hope you enjoined the Australian stop on the global blog hop of all the Artisan Design Team member, next up you are going to the UK to visit with the AMAZING  Vicky Hayes.

    teneale, this card looks amazing. I have only used a brayer once in a class so I think I need to one and learn how to use it.

    Not crazy, but brilliant!! Those little details are important and I’m going to utilize your wonderful idea going forward. No more white dimensionals under dark cardstock!!

    The 3 dimensional effect and the monotone make this card so stunning. Absolutely gorgeous, Teneale!
