When the new Annual Catalogue was released last month I made a list of stamps that I planned on ordering, one that never made that list was Circle Sayings. It was definitely not even on my radar until I started seeing other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators sharing their cards using the stamp set and it made me go back and have a look at it. I love a stamp set that allows me to create different kinds of cards, Circle Sayings has a sun and wave image that I am using today plus sea shells, cupcake, flowers and greetings.
The images are designed to fit within a circle, I have used a retired Stampin’ Up! circle for the first layer and attached that to a circle cut from Stylish Shapes Dies I just love the detail on the edge. The waves image from Circle Sayings was stamped using Gray Granite ink for a softer look on Basic White A4 and coloured with Blends. I used So Saffron on my card which is now retired but I have listed Lemon Lolly in the supplies list below.
To enhance the crosshatch I rubbed the embosed surface with a White craft ink pad. This embossing folder is a little hidden and I get asked about it often as I use it often, it is part of Basics 3 D Embossing Folders which is a set of 3 and included in the latest online exclusives release.
Maybe a little overthinking but I took inspiration from the beach with the background. The vellum layer represents a breaking wave flowing into the sand.
Inside the card I have stamped ‘best wishes’ from Layering Leaves, and fussy cut shells from Circle Sayings stamp set which is the same set as I used on the front of the card.
