Bird on a Branch

October 6, 2009

bird-on-the-branch-black-breeze-line.jpg

I have LOVED this set for the longest time, I have used the greeting a million times but I still had not used the Bird and Branch. I love how simple and elegant this set is, which just in case you have not realised yet that is so my style. I wanted this card to be elegant so I kept the colours to a minimum using Baja Breeze with Black and White….What’s more elegant then that.

This card is super simple, I have clear embossed the circles on Baja Breeze for background, I have used Designer Series Paper in Baja Breeze to create the centre flag, layered on White with a fine boarder. I have stamped the Black images in Jet Black StazOn because I always think StazOn gives the cleanest stamped image plus I love the smell so whenever I can pull it out I do {lol}. I have stamped the circles over the top in Baja Breeze ink and also stamped some circles onto scrap Whisper White and cut a few out to “pop” them up. I can’t go past a big ribbon bow and I am loving buttons at the moment. I added a few tiny pearls to finish off.

Here is the inside of the card, I have just stamped the branches at the top and button.

As well as stamping the inside the cards I also love finishing off the envelope, Here I have stamped the circles on the back flap and added a little black scallop. On the front I have Stamped the Bird and Branch on the front. How pretty does it look.

    Teneale!!!
This is STUNNING!!! I absolutely love it!! I want this stamp set now…..and I was trying sooooo hard not to buy anymore this year!! Baja with black and white is my fav colour combo at the moment + Baja with Choc Chip. Yummo!!

I love what you have done here….the layering, the ribbon, the button…..all of it.
Spectacular work. You definitely are the queen of simple and elegant.

You actually like the smell of StazOn…….Ugh!! I chose a different black ink (Memento Tuxedo Black) because I can’t stand the smell of StazOn. Each to their own, hey. There’s obviously a market for both. 🙂

Are you recovering from Parra’s shocking loss on Sunday??

This card is beyond words. I love all your cards but this one is stunning. I don’t normally look to black but this has changed my mind. You could never find a card of this standard in a shop.
