I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, I spent mine with my family and the long weekend has been so enjoyable to catch up on all of “those” things I have been putting off. I feel like I have not played along with the Creation Station design team weeks, but this post is linked into their blog hop.
This hop we are featuring, Butterfly Basics Stamp Set, Berry Basket Bigz Die and Spring but I had in MY HEAD Butterfly Basics Stamp Set, Berry Basket Bigz Die and Chalkboard Paper….Not sure where I got the Chalkboard Paper from! Until I realised it wrong I was SO proud that I included all 3 in my project. #WrongAgain
What I do have is a little something for a friend who always comments on my gift wrapping and is totally obsessed with the chalkboard trend. I love making up little sets of cards or tags, I feel like I am sharing my creative “passion” with the receiver then they are sharing it on even further.
The “for you” tag is from Handpicked Framelits Die set, using what I call the bread clip and I have slipped this tag over my linen thread. I am going to make you guess what stamp set the “for you” is from 🙂
There are three tag designs with 8 tags of each, all tags have the flower image from Butterfly Basics using Craft Whisper White Ink. First over the chalkboard paper I sponged a small amount of the White ink then stamped the flowers. Design one: Landscape with Happy Birthday which is also part of the Butterfly Basics set.
Design two & three: Are “blank” with just a single flower image stamped down the side, in both orientations. I would suggest heat setting the White ink as it took a while to dry.
I am a big fan of adding little details to cards and projects, you can see in the image below I have added texture to the berry basket by using the hexagon image from Butterfly Basics, I stamped a small sections of the image in VersaMark then clear embossed it after that I rubbed my Whisper White Craft Ink pad over the surface, wiped that away with a tissue and then a directly applied VersaMark to the surface and again wiped the excess ink off. This created the most wonderful texture, that very much look like the texture in a “real” berry basket.
The texture not a visible next image of the empty berry basket. I have make this basket a little stronger by using Coaster board in place of a single sheet of cardstock, I have in fact used double the cardstock as I have attached a sheet of Lost Lagoon to each side of the coasterboard before cutting the basket with the Big Shot.
The greatest part of a blog hop is you great more ideas, now I send you off to visit with Sara Levin.
Here are the items I have used in the project, in Australia shop online through my online store.
Teneale, I just adore your work. You are so inspiring! Would you share where you obtained your wooden spools from? I’ve been searching for spools to store my SU ribbon on for a while. I just love my stuff to look pretty and be on display rather than stored in a draw! Keep inspiring us please! Leah
They were given them by a friend who brought them from a store in Richmond NSW and I found more from House to Home in Moorebank NSW.
Teneale, you weren’t ‘wrong’ – you just added something extra to our tour!! I love how you used the Chalkboard paper – I love that stuff 🙂 Fabulous projects all ’round!
So über cute! I adore the chalkboard tags and I have no doubt your friend will cherish these. Happy Easter. xo
I love these colors together! The gift tags are a nice idea and I really like how you incorporated the chalkboard paper!!

Oh Teneale I am totally smitten with your project! TFS!
Wow Teneale, as always it’s those little touches and your eye for detail that makes you stand head and shoulders above the rest. That little basket is sooo cute. Ah-mazing job as always x
Love everything about this project Teneale 🙂 the tags are just so stinkin cute and I love the effect you created on the basket. I was not going to get that die but hmmmm now I might have to lol.
