“You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water” —Rabindranath Tagore. The first time, I saw Sale-A-Bration level one stamp set “By The Bay” I was reminded of that quote from poet Rabindranath Tagore, it hung in one of my classes at high school, I can’t remember the teacher or even the subject I was in that classroom for but the words have stayed with me. Today I am sharing a card I have created for a friend who is having a hard time at the moment, the greeting even in the set “May all your paths lead to happiness” sometimes we just don’t know what the future lays before us but we must keep moving forward.
I was given a helping hand with the design of the card by using the sketch below as part of this rounds INKspired blog hop, it is only a little hop this round with 4 members of my Stampin’ Up! Team.
For the first time in YEARS! Well 6 years, as a matter of fact, I have made a video of the process making this card.
I am a MASSIVE fan of the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, check out that texture on the Gingham Gala 6″ Designer Series Paper
Who knew there was a background stamp set called Post Script in the catalogue? Well, I didn’t realise until I was looking over mum’s craft desk (thanks Stamping Barb) seeing that I was the first to use the stamp, I should be the owner of the stamp now. Do you agree?
For the background, I started with the Pear Pizzazz cardstock and wiped Whisper White Craft ink over the top, followed by Embossing Buddy. Using the Post Script background I clear embossed sections of the background stamp.
I have kept inside very plan, I have a lot to write to my dear friend. I have simply gold embossed the seagulls and watercoloured the sky and sand.
Now it is time to hop over to my crafty friend Kozue

Whilst I said I was never using this set again, you changed my mind. Beautiful as usual
Such a beautiful card and the detail amazing. Love your work Teneale you are such an inspiration. Xx
There so many things I love about this video. The way you chose your colours and placed them on your glass cutting mat (with printed squares!! Oh wow. Love it!) at the beginning just showed how handy that was for mixing colours. I will never press an ink pad back again! Also, the muting with an draft ink pad. Genius. And colouring the back and curling it over. Love it. I too use the banner punch very regularly, but not like you did to create flag ends. Very clever. I’ve also got to say, the fact that there was limited talking (other than exactly what you were doing, and it was sped up (the watercolourimg section was NOT TOO LONG. Some demos drag it out for over an hour. JUST NOPE) was FANTASTIC!!!. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope it doesn’t take 6 years to do another video.
Petra, You have filled my heart. Thank you! I laugh that you can tell I was worried I showed too much of the colouring. I HATE long videos and I rarely watch videos but so many people have been suggesting I make them, I finally caved.
I follow your blog regularly and love your work! Enjoyed the video so much and hope you do more. I appreciate all the time and effort it takes to share what you do. Thank you so much! Sandy
I will make more videos of the process, it is great to hear you enjoyed this one.
LOVED the video. Keep it up. Always looking for different techniques. Always have admired you artistry.
Teneale, I go on your website every Sunday with the hope of seeing another one of your beautiful creations. What an absolute blessing to see a video and the process you go through to make your fabulous cards. For those who are not as fortunate to be in NSW and being able to attend one of your classes it was very special to be able to watch you crafstmanship in action. Please do consider to do this again shortly.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video! I have followed your blog for sometime now and always so inspirational!!
Thankyou
