Can you guess???? {Blog Candy}

May 1, 2009

inspired-bag-tech-olive-plum-line.jpg

Just a quick post today, I am at the 3rd Australian Stampin’ Up! Convention in Canberra at the moment so just a quick card that I made last week used Inspired by Nature and the new Friendship wheel. I have not done a give away or blog candy in a while so I thought it would be fun for people to guess what technique I have done on the flower image?

inspired-bag-tech-olive-plum-2.jpg

What will you win? My Favourite word set in the new Catty is “Best Yet” on page 19 of the current Australian Catalogue to the first person to answer correctly which technique on the flower. I will also pick a random winner from all the comments to win an In colour ribbon sample pack.

Open to all of my blog readers including fellow demos and people overseas.

ADDING: This will close on Wednesday 6th May 2009 at 11pm Sydney Time.

NOW CLOSED.

Hi Teneale – if I can’t be at Convention (boo hoo!), I’ll have a go at guessing your technique (love the card). Spray water on rubber, crayon colour direct onto rubber, spray water on stamp again to wet crayon, then stamp onto card. How did I go? Love, Chris xxoo

Hi Teneale hope your having fun at convention .
    Is it Bleaching

  3. Lou says: May 1, 2009 at 8:20 pm

    Mmmm maybe bleaching?

    Lou

  4. Robyn A says: May 1, 2009 at 8:55 pm

Probably way off, but I am guessing the bleaching technique has been used on the flowers. Hope you are enjoying convention.

I am guessing using the pastels…do you call it popping pastels?…but I really have no idea…just wanted to say I think the card looks great.

  6. tanya O'Shea says: May 1, 2009 at 9:29 pm

Not sure what its called but I do know that you use water and pastels/crayons. as in the below link.
Actually not sure if thats even correct…just wanted to say the card is realy great.

    Hi,
I love your card. I’m guessing that you used the crayon resist technique. Thanks for the inspiration!
    Mikesgal 🙂

  9. julie says: May 1, 2009 at 9:40 pm

    Hi.
Have you used watercolouring with the crayons?
    Lovely colours.
    Julie

  10. sharon says: May 1, 2009 at 9:45 pm

Beautfil card – i think the technique used is – wet crayon to stamp onto paper, so water on stamp, dry crayon applied to stamp, water on stamp again, then stamp image!

  11. Tara says: May 1, 2009 at 9:48 pm

Oh Teneale, that is SO pretty! I’d love to take a guess on the technique, but I have no idea. I’m looking forward to finding out though!

  12. Jane Marshall says: May 1, 2009 at 10:07 pm

I think it might be where you colour the stamp with watercolour crayons, then spray the stamp with water, then stamp the image onto card stock. I love your card by the way.

  13. Ruth says: May 1, 2009 at 11:21 pm

I think it might be “spritzing” (haven’t read the other comments though!) The card is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

  14. Leanne Frank says: May 2, 2009 at 12:55 am

What a wonderful card, I know that you have used markers.

  15. Paula says: May 2, 2009 at 1:05 am

This card is beautiful. did you use the watercolor crayons directly on the stamp and then spray them with water? I will have to try to duplicate it once you tell us what it was!

  16. Lynda says: May 2, 2009 at 8:21 am

Hi Teneale, I think you have spritzed the image with a water before you stamped it onto the card.

  17. KimB says: May 2, 2009 at 8:27 am

    HI Teneale,

well I’m pretty sure its not bleaching or poppin pastels and agree with the majority that I think it has to be something to do with colouring the stamp with crayons and then misting with water and stamping.

I’m looking forward to finding out as the effect is lovely.

    Kim

  18. Orla says: May 2, 2009 at 5:04 pm

    Hey Teneale,

I will try guess something else…..perhaps it’s the double stamping technique! ? I brand new to stamping so don’t have too much of an idea 🙂 Looking forward to recieving my first order. Hope the convention is going well.

The colours you have used on the card are really neat

    Orla x

  19. Robyn Little says: May 3, 2009 at 12:29 am

Beautiful card Teneale. Like everyone else says, it’s got something to do with probably crayons on stamp, then spritzing to get the watercolour effect, but what exactly, not sure.

    Hope you’re loving Convention.

    Robyn x

  20. Andrea Eppingstall says: May 3, 2009 at 6:19 pm

It’s really nice.. whatever it is!! I think it might be direct to rubber with markers, and then slightly sprayed with water mist, then stamped?? Hope you’ve enjoyed Convention 🙂

  21. Karen says: May 4, 2009 at 10:02 am

This is a beautiful card. At first I was going to guess watercolor crayons but now I’m thinking maybe you put the ink on the stamp with sponge daubers.

  22. Bec says: May 4, 2009 at 10:17 am

What a stunning card! So Beautiful!
Im not sure…but have just learned how to stamp using the markers, is that the technique?
    Anyway, really gorgeous card!

  23. Stevie Merryweather says: May 4, 2009 at 7:03 pm

I think you have used an aqua painter and ink pads (just to be different, lol). Great card – love the colour combo 🙂

  24. Kylie Johnson says: May 4, 2009 at 8:37 pm

I think you have used Markers which you have sprayed with water.

    Looks great.

  25. Jane Mann says: May 4, 2009 at 8:43 pm

Beautiful card – colours I would never think of using! I think it could be markers direct to rubber.

  26. Angie Brown says: May 4, 2009 at 10:49 pm

Pretty colour combination, I think you coloured the flower petals with markers and stamped onto a scrap piece of paper ready for 2nd generation image, then coloured the remainder of the stamp with markers, spritzed the leaves with a darker colour then stamped the whole image onto cardstock.

Pretty image, must try and have a play, you’ve changed the whole image of the stamp! clever girl! 🙂

  27. Margaret Knoops says: May 5, 2009 at 9:09 am

    Stunning, Stunning card Teneale.

    Loving those colours!

It would have to be crayons coloured directly onto the stamps, then lightly sprayed with water & stamped onto Watercolour paper.

    Love, love, love it.

  28. Nina says: May 5, 2009 at 9:20 pm

i have no idea…but will stab in the dark with a guess just the same!!

is it chalking with a wet applicator?

    Nina

  29. Sharon says: May 6, 2009 at 2:23 am

Lovely card! It looks like you’ve used the chalkboard technique to me.

  30. Casey J says: May 6, 2009 at 3:13 am

I know, I know… You used markers to color the image and “removed” some of the ink creating the “light and shade” just not sure what you used????

  31. MicheyMoo says: May 6, 2009 at 11:49 am

    Hi Teneale,
Hope the Convention was amazing for you – I’ve seen lots of other blogs where the ladies had a fantastic time.

Given the lovely texture you’ve achieved with this image my guess is that you’ve used sponge daubers to apply the colour from the ink pad to the stamp itself in each of the colours used and then huffed to refresh before stamping the image itself. I think I’ll head home and try this myself tonight!! 🙂

    Blessings, Miche

I am really enjoying browsing through your blog. I love this card, the petals are so subtle and pretty. I just got this set recently and have been enjoying doing some of the same things you have. Thanks for the inspiration.
