Its’s CASE Study time! I have missed all of the challenge for April so far as I needed to take some time off, I was so disappointed that I was missing the first three weeks as one of my favourite all time stampers was the April Muse, Laurie Schmidlin I found her on Splitcoast Stampers when I was a fresh little {or not so little} Stampin’ Up! Demo almost 6 years ago and I fell in LOVE, I would look at her work and just stare at how amazing it was is and note all the little details. When I was asked to do 20 questions for Australian Stamping and Papercraft Magazine a few years ago one of the questions was to name stampers that most inspired me and Laurie was one of the 4 names…. can you tell how much I love HER! lol I think I have a stamper crush on her.
I was almost doing back flips {if you know me you know that would be pretty hard at my “size” but I did give them a try} around my craft room when Chupa announced she was our April Muse. If you have never seen her work you really should! Quick click here and hold on because you will be blown away by her pure talent.
Check out Laurie’s card for this week to the left, how clever is she! Her cards are always so interesting, I always need to zoom in to completely take in the details! Know what I mean? Yes, Oh good!
I was SO inspired from the muse card for this week, largely by the layout and placement. I stepped out of my colour safe zone and went a little brighter then normal using Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.
Inside the card, which is not that exciting but I do love a little pom pom trim and how cute is that owl.
This card doubled as card that is be made in my card classes this week as a matter of fact! We are using Stampin’ Up! Fabrics to create flowers, for this card we made a “Yo yo” flower which I hope you agree looked pretty impressive on my above card as a embellishment… Well as a strike of pure Teneale genius I stepped it up and designed the Yo-yo to come off the card to become a hair clip for a little girl and the card still looked cute once the clip is removed. A card and gift in one! Thank you very much…. I know so clever! Please don’t tell me if you think any different please, let me have my minute {lol}
Just in case you were wondering, we have hot glued a clip to the back of the yo yo.
I do have some room to Friday Nights class if you are in the Western Sydney area or willing to travel to Old Mt Druitt

So gorgeous! Love the fun, vibrant colours and the fabric yo-yo! I agree that the hair clip is a brilliant touch! I can’t for the life of me figure out how you added the sentiment on top and then have it show on the card on the second picture… Hmm….

Wow Teneale what a fabulous card. I love the removable clip idea … think I might be giving this one a go myself.
Very cute indeed ,now I have a picture in my head of you trying to do back flips 🙂
You are awesome!!!
Teneale, the colors on this beauty just blew me away when I first saw it! That fabric flower is incredible, and what a fantastic idea to make it a detachable hair clip. I love that cute little owl too!
We’ve missed you @ CASE Study this month, Teneale! I’m so glad you squeezed in a card this week – I’m completely in awe of that awesome colour combo, the awesome hair clip and I always admire how you decorate inside your cards too! Fabulous!
Hugs!
