October 20, 2011

It feels like forever since I posted here on my blog…..I guess that’s because it has been forever so I have a few cards to post as catch ups. I hope you have all missed me terribly {lol} just joking I am sure you are thinking not really and ever really noticed it has been a few weeks. It has been a dramatic time yet again in my little “world” and  some old story! I have just been busy like many of you. I should correct that last comment and say that now  the renovators is now finished I have at least half and hour back in each day, I have never been so hooked to a TV show like the renovators had me…..  {for all my non-Australian readers in was a home renovation show}

I should get the to important stuff and discuss this weeks CASE Study and the outstanding October muse  Niki Estes who has a wonderful style and taken the most wonderful photos. This week you will see the card that Niki has supplied to inspire us to the left, it is so simple but it just works. You all know I am not “simple” but I always love simple designs and appreciate the balance that goes into this style.

What inspiration did  I take from the muse card?

Layout: I was taken with the position of the flower, having the off centered greeting and flower which I think you can see with my card with the butterfly and quote. I have stayed true to my style and added a few more layers but kept it close to Niki’s basic design.

Stitching:  I have always been a big fan of stitching on papercraft projects, I have taken Niki’s lead and framed my card with a stitched boarder.

Leafs: Niki has leafs coming out from under her flower, I have used the flourish coming out from under the butterfly.

Here is my take………

Teneale Williams, Stampin' Up!, stampin up, case study, french foliage, creative elements, butterfly die, sizzix, Pursuit of happiness, Australia, Sydney, Blacktown, Penrith, Mt Druitt, West,

Inside the card!

    I love your take on the card. It is so pretty. I like the bits of text on the butterflies wings and the little pearls down the body. The flourishes look so elegant over the centre of the card and the inside of the card matches perfectly with that touch of writing, the tiny pearl and the flourishes in the corners and over the backgound paper as well. It is gorgeous!
