The Spot Challenge for this week is CASE the Designer Maheswari Rajaguru, what does CASE mean? Copy And Selectively Edit. I found this card on Pinterest that Maheswari created.
I have a very different style to Maheswari but that is the fun thing about this challenge because I was able to take elements from her card as the foundation of my card. I used her layout but changed the orientation to portrait and even used the same scallop dies called Stitched So Sweetly.
I straight away knew I wanted to use Kangaroo & Company stamp set as Maheswari and I are both Australian Stampin’ Demonstrators, the Kangaroo is a fitting image.
I mean, how cute this is little guy? The Resin Hearts Embellishments are from the current Mini Catalogue.
I cased the way she stamped on the strips of coloured cardstock. For me, I coloured Basic White Cardstock with Stampin’ Blend in Light Daffodil Delight, light Old Olive Stampin and light Bermuda Bay. Then using Circle Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set I stamped in Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Bermuda Bay. I found doing tone on stamping with the cardstock was a little too dark but by using Stampin’ Blends it was the perfect tone.
I white embossed the image like Maheswari and originally I used Crumb Cake like the CASE card but it was lost. I restamped it on Basic Black cardstock for a chalkboard look.
