Cheers to being 21

September 24, 2009

cheers-to-mel-line.jpg

I am loving this card SO much it is SO not me and they are colours that I never use….To the point I did not even own all the colours in Cardstock and Ink Pads {shock} but I made do. I needed to make a 21st Birthday card for my little cousin who is having a Hawaiian theme celebration to mark this milestone Birthday. I did not have to think to hard about this card which is nice. I straight away pulled out the Pink Flamingo Printed Papers and Cheers to You stamp set because I think they are perfect for this theme. What else made it easy was I took part in another Sketch Challenge this time from iheart2stamp.com.

Here is the Layout:

Here is my take on the Layout: It was a fun layout and a layout I would not of put together myself but it looks great. I have Watercoloured the Glass and paper pieced the other elements in the image. I have applied Crystal Efforts over the Glass and Cherry. I also used a little Crystal Efforts in the centre of the flowers.

And I just thought I would show you the envelope and card together, I love matching the card inside and envelope with the card front On the envelope I have covered the back flap with Printed Paper and used AC Thickers to put Melissa on the front. I am very happy with this card.

Fantastic, love the card and i am sure that your little cousin will too. Love the effect that you used to give the drink the feel that it really does have liquid in it.

Thank you again for sharing your talent with us all

Teneale I just LOVE LOVE LOVE what you have done with this! I have those papers too but they are just not “my cup of tea”, but here you have taken the best part of them and used them to such great effect. I am totally going to CASE this one, it is fantastic. Thanks for such great inspiration!

Hi Teneale! This card is sooooo GORGEOUS! It’s so bright and funky and beautiful, and yet nothing clashes. I just love the crystal effects on the glass and cherry.

    Teneale,

This is such a fun card. I also wouldn’t have used these colours and didn’t buy this DSP earlier this year for much the same reason as you – but you’ve done such a great job I’m having to rethink whether to add it to my wishlist or not.

I hope your cuz loves it as much as we do.

Oh my! This is awesome Teneale 😀 Melissa is going to LOVE this fun and fresh card. I’m going to have to pull out those papers and stamp set too and give them a go together. Thanks for the inspiration!

Bright was the first word that struck me with this card. I love the feel that is gives off….esp for the age of the person it is for. So many commercially bought cards are so drab. Great to see someone celebrating the way it should be.

How gorgeous! They are not my comfort zone colours either, but as usual you make them look sensational. Well done!
