Do you have the Christmas spirit? Why you ask? Well, I have a little story to share with you. Yesterday {Friday} I was driving Bailey my who is 6 year old niece to School like I do most Fridays, we always have lovely little chats or sing {badly} to the music playing as we drive and it is always the best part of my day but this yesterday she hit me with a hard one, that bad I wanted to pull my card over and cry on the side of the road!
Bailey: Aunty did you know that if you don’t have Christmas lights on your house you don’t have Christmas spirit?
Teneale aka Aunty: Really? Are you sure because I think I have Christmas Spirit we put up my Christmas Tree weeks ago and I have lights on the tree, we are driving in a card that has a red noise and reindeer ear, plus I started making Christmas cards in July. I am more into Christmas then anyone in our family!
Bailey: No Aunty, no lights means no Christmas Spirit {said as she pulls a funny face and shrugged her shoulders at me} I don’t make the rules Aunty.
This left me in shock, being the last day of school I had made her gifts for her teachers so I played a large size “elf” helping her hand our the gifts… which I think is very kind knowing that I don’t have Christmas spirit! As I drove home her little voice was ringing in my head, when home I pulled out every Christmas light and decorations not being using and started putting them up on the front of my house, which was a massive job to get it done before school pick up but I was on a mission to find my Christmas spirit by 3pm… I am happy to report my lights are shining bright and that means I have Christmas spirit finally…
For day six of my Christmas Create Down I have this Christmas card for you, it was one of the first Christmas cards I made this year and it was published in issue 90 of Australian Scrapbook Creation magazine, I was pretty happy with the card and really like the colours. A card that is perfect for a special someone who will proudly display the card, I know the perfect person who keeps all my cards I give her and you know what she is my favourite person to give my cards to because she is always so delighted to open the envelope.
Now that is a great story – out of the mouths of babes….she’d hate it here, we put our tree up about a week ago….LOL….and I haven’t even started my Christmas cards….still crafting gifts…..PS LOVE the card!!
Great tale of an aunty that doesn’t want to disappoint!! Gorgeous card with terrific coloring!
Sweet story and gorgeous card! I love the water stains. And how do you make such perfect bows?!

What an amazingly wonderful Aunt you are Teneale. Well done not to disappoint that little person. You are so blessed to have her in your life and she’s double blessed to have such a loving Aunt as you (….not to mention talented!)
That is the Christmas spirit, not dissapointing a child.

Oh dear, we must get our Christmas spirit out then. Have had the tree up with lights on for about a month now, but we are neglecting outside.
Merry Christmas Teneale to you and Mum and the rest of your family.
And I love the days of Christmas.
Oh, Teneale, this is absolutely gorgeous! I have to make a card for a very special person…thanks for this fabulous inspiration! You always do inspire me! Hugs from the U.S. and Merry Christmas!!
I was thrilled to see you had visited my blog and left a few comments. Our cards are very similar. Yours is so much nicer, but thanks for the kind words. I wish I had seen your card before I had done mine, or maybe I did and it sunk in to my subconscious! I hope you don’t mind! I do love your work it is amazing!!!
