Creation Station Blog Hop {Kinda Eclectic Notes}

August 17, 2014

By Teneale Williams| Take a plain not pad with the images from Kinda Eclectic from Stampin' Up! and create a fabulous gift.

Welcome to my stop on this Creation Station blog hop

The theme of this blog hop is note pads, school and Kinda Eclectic.

…..

I have created school achievement gift for my niece Bailey,

last week my sister was contacted by the school that Bailey

was receiving a special award on Friday and suggest she attend.

By Teneale Williams| Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

Bailey is a HUGE Stampin’ Up! Fan and demo in the making,

she has said on many occasions when she grows up she wants to

be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator,  were most kids play

students and teachers, she has been found playing

Stampin’ teacher and students, showing her little sister or

her pretend students how they need to make their cards.

….

I would normally make her a card for this achievement, however

inspired by this blog hop, I made her a note pad that she can sit on her desk.

By Teneale Williams| Take a plain not pad from a dollar store and create something pretty special with a few stamps and ink

Her favourite Stampin’ Up! Colours are a little too bright for me

but I tried my hardest to stick to her colours of

Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay.

I did use Strawberry Slush ink because it was not on my

ink pad catty and I think I gave it to her. Not my colour at ALL.

By Teneale Williams| Stamp each page, it does not take that long and with Stampin' Up! Ink no waiting for ink to dry.

I have stamped all the pages with an image from

Kinda Eclectic, I had three designs. It was very fast I did all

of one design then moved onto the next. I think they look great.

By Teneale Williams

The note pad it self I picked up at a dollar store

it was just a plain white memo pad and I just created the

cover with Bermuda Bay Cardstock.

By Teneale Williams| Created faux chipboard letters by layer the same letter on top of each other to adding dimension

One of the greatest things about handmade gifts is

that we can personalise the item,

I have put “Bailey” on the front with Silver Glitter Paper

and cut them out with the Little Letters Thinlits dies

I liked them but they need a little dimension.

Inspired by the challenge over at Just Add Ink

to add chipboard this week, I thought I could create

my own chipboard look by sticking a few layers of each

letter on top of each other, creating a faux chipboard look.

You can see in the image below the difference

between one layer and this layered look.

By Teneale Williams| Faux Chipboard look

As I did not make her a card

I thought I better wrap the note pad up to look cute.

I will write her a little note on the back of the tag.

Way to go! Is a saying I use alot, so this stamp set

is a keeper for me! I LOVE IT.

….

Now one last thing to need to explain, I wanted the tag to have a

softer look  like the note pad cover with the watercolour,

the greeting was very bold with I stamped it out the first time

so I had a second go, then kissing the crosshatch

butterfly to the re-inked greeting.

Creating this look that I think looks a little watercoloured.

BY Teneale Williams| Create your own Wrapping paper with a few stamps, ink and printer paper. Now my wrapping & gift match

Monday night she will get this gift, as we have Family Dinner

every Monday night, if someone has achieved something

then the family dinner is often stepped up to a celebration dinner

and they get to choose the meal we have.

Bailey has requested Grandma’s Corn and Chicken soup

like she always does, in fact both my nieces pick the soup!

….

Well I hope you enjoyed that!

Next up in Sara and she has some back to school inspiration..

Wow! What a fabulous gift for Bailey! You’re so right about the extra dimension on the letters of her name to give it a bit more ‘oomph’. Thanks for playing along at Just Add Ink this week (and for the lovely comment on my blog too).
