I have been stamping for many years and my style has changed so much in that time. I started out with a fun and funky style, when clean and simple then started adding layers upon layers. I noticed lately I have had a changed again in style, I am heading back to clean and simple but adding a few wow elements. Well, maybe wow is not the correct term but a little pizzazz?
This card only uses Basic White A4 Cardstock, I sponged Polished Pink ink from the top to center and Calypso Coral from the bottom up using Blending Brushes. I have to say, not all Blending Brushes are made equal! Before Stampin’ Up! released their own I brought make up brushes on Ebay and a few at craft shows as I was seeing all these amazing blended backgrounds on Instagram mine never looked as effective as the Blending Brushes from Stampin’ Up! and I am not just saying that as a Stampin’ Up! Demostrator, I was blown away by the improvement in the softness of my blending.
Once I created the blend of the two colours I placed the cardstock in the leaf design of Greenery Embossing Folders, making sure I had the leaf raised up. Lightly I wiped the White Craft Pad over the raised sections, you can see how it has lightened these sections and really made them stand out.
When I said I add wow, it is amazing the difference splatter makes to your card. I started splattering thinned down white paint and moved onto Polished Pink Stampin’ Blend and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend over the respective colour.
I should note the greeting I used is retired but perfect for my recipient. If you are casing this card, you can very easily replace the greeting with one you have.
Back to the details of my card… I have two words for you that could chance your crafting life! Gilded Leafing it improved my craft life! Like many relationships, it can be challenging (like when you try talking when using it and it blows everywhere) but if you handle it with care, it will be ok. I lightly brush a tiny amount of glue to the cardstock section I wish to make shine and pat on a little Gilded Leafing, move on the the next section and with a dry brush wipe off all the extra Gilded Leafing. The photo just doesn’t do it justice.
Inside the card is a strip cut off the front design. Simple but carries the front inside the card.
