A few days ago I shared two cards featuring the floating technique after I made them I started thinking about other ways to create this floating look. I had also wanted to create with Floral Statements, it has been sitting on my shelf feeling a little unloved for a little too long. The last time I played with it, I went very vintage-ish and watercoloured (you can see that card here) this time around I wanted clean and simple.
When it comes to stamping this image, the Stamparatus is a MUST. It really needs to be double stamped to get a really crisp image, I have no idea how I stamped before I had a stamp positioner like the Stamparatus. I used my Stampin’ Blends to colour the rose in Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green. The fussy cutting around the image and even inside, which totally seemed like a good idea at the start.
The Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies are great as they have the stitch detail on both sides of the cut line. I used them to create a white frame and then attached it using Foam Adhesive Strips. The main image was placed inside the frame, with four points of the flower touching the frame. Finally, I added Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
Inside the card, I stamped the top rose section on the two corners. I like being able to use one stamp in a different ways.
Here are the items I have used in this card. Note that the Floral Statements is retiring and in limited supply. You have until May 31st.
