I am feeling a little challenged for more then one reason…. two reasons in fact! This week at TGIF challenge site {visit HERE} we have our May challenge remix….which I am SO excited about! We take 2 of the challenges from the month and put them together.
I have taken the sketch challenge
and elements from the inspiration challenge
to create this:
It is easy to see how I used the sketch in the card, however it is a different size as I have created a square card, with the butterfly has replaced the label shape and then I used that shape for the V at the bottom of the flag layer.
The inspiration image is maybe not so obvious, the flower image I have used has that swirl design like the inspiration image, the floating flower on the Whisper White are inspired by the yellow flowers in the inspiration image and lastly the flowers are embedded in polka dots like the flowers in the image are surrounded by a check pattern.
To create the decorative edge and the point, I first stamped my flowers then lined the Labels Framelit {buy HERE they are retiring and 50%} on the base of the Big Shot and passed half the framelit through the Big Shot.
Just a close up on the details on the butterfly, I have hand stitched through the butterfly and tied a bow at the top using silver thread. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack {buy HERE} to create a straight line to sew through. Under the greeting I have added a fine strip of silver glimmer paper.
Inside my card:
Both the stamp sets used are hostess stamp sets from the upcoming 2015/2016 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue, they are called Floral Wings and Happy Birthday Everyone.
Here are the items used, order online:
What a beautiful card, both inside and out, love all the details and the fancy edges.
Wowzer!! This is beautiful – love the rich dark colors with the details of silver. That thread is so pretty! And a typical Teneale inside… Could be a front of a card too! Love it!
I guess with the applications out for new artisans, your year will be up. I have followed your work for several years and will miss the weekly projects. You are truly creative and talented and I am inspired by this.
What a beautiful card! I love everything about it–but I think the stitching on the butterfly is my favorite detail.
OMG…hand stitched..now that’s such a personal touch to the card. Thanks for sharing how you made your white banner. Beautiful card. 🙂
