We all have a friend who you don’t have to speak every day or even every week but when you do catch up it is like no time has passed and you start where you left off. They are that friend that you can call when you just need to talk about nothing and that talk with her means everything. They really are Blessings in our lives, I have made this card for one of these friends. I am making more of an effect to send ‘just because’ cards, just to let my loved ones I am grateful for them.
The name of the stamp set I have used is also so fitting “Rare Blessings” it is a lovely orchid image which I have watercoloured using Rococo Rose and Mint Macaron re-inker, I squeeze a little of the fluid onto a plate and water it down a little before I start colouring the image. I should say I actually coloured around the image with Sahara Sand before colouring the flower but this detail is not showing up so well in my photograph, it adds a little vintage feel.
All the textures, I have the Rococo Rose gingham design from the 2019–2021 In Color 6″ Designer Series Paper stack for the background paper, which I texturized using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and lightly sanded. Tip, I use a fine nail buffing block to sand my edges.
I have stitched a little Rococo Rose 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon along the bottom of the name panel.
One of the stamp sets from the new Annual Catalogue was Praiseworthy Prose, it is a selection of definitions and this was something I have been hoping Stampin’ Up! would release. I have stamped the friendship definition on Crumb Cake and used the Merry Christmas Dies to cut it out, the whole card has a destressed feel so I rolled the paper over my Bone Folder to break the fibres.
Along the top I added a little Mint Macaron 1/4″ Textile Ribbon and Linen Thread. Once the card front was complete I splatted a little weak Sahara Sand.
Inside the card, the greeting is also from Rare Blessings Cling Stamp Set as to the flower that I have stamped to the side. I did question if I should have stamped the greeting to the left and not the center, it feels a little right heavy! I guess once I write my message it will look ok.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card, I will be back on Wednesday with a card using To A Wild Rose.
