Confession time. I hate, I mean HATE colour challenges, like a child hates peas (well, I did as a kid) I avoid doing them at all costs (not peas, the colour challenge). I have skipped almost every colour challenge at Global Design Project since it started, not out of lack of time or too busy with work and study but I struggled SO much with my card, time expires. I have a stack of cards, that I started and never completed that were based on colour challenges. Not sure if it is my brain just not handling the “limitation” or creative stubbornness to not step outside my colour comfit zone. It was time for me to pull on my big girl panties to create a card using the colours Kylie selected for us, I will admit…. I have been thinking about these colours for weeks.
See the challenge page HERE
I am kind of happy with it; I did go a little crazy with the Tip Top Taupe watercolouring around the Sweetbriar Rose image. I have watercoloured on Shimmer cardstock using a Aqua painter for the was around the image, then switching to a Blender Pen for the leaves and flowers.
Inside the card, keeping the same elements from the front of the card and increasing the amount of Typeset printed paper. I am not one to write a long message inside my cards so that little room is fine for me. I much prefer “prettiness” than my ugly handwriting.

Well you would never know from your stunning card, you had colour challenge aversion syndrome!! Ha ha ha it does exist – I think I just have a milder form than you but I really struggle with them too! Lol! Your card is absolutely beautiful! 🙂 x

This stamp is retiring, and I am going to miss using it, but I am not parting with it. Love all the tip top toupe as well.
I wish my colour struggles turned out as well as yours Miss T! This is stunning!! Colour combos cause me a world of angst too, I think it is the restriction that does it!!
Wow Teneale, this is beyond amazingM your coloring really makes the leaves and petals pop! And I love the detail of the faint honeycomb stamped around the mint macaron layer!
Can I ask what fonts you used on your picture? They look like they’d be a fun scrapbook font!
They are not free fonts but I will check and let you know.
Blue flowers in nature are very rare, and your card is a rare beauty. I love it. Thanks, Teneale for inspiring others to step outside their comfort zone.

Well you picked a great colour combo to debut with! Gorgeous card. I had a chuckle at your comment about writing in your cards – my handwriting is woeful and I can never think of something witty to say so now I just get my son to do the inside of my cards 🙂
