Greetings my inky friends. I hope you are well, to my Sydney based peeps I hope you managed to stay warm and dry over the weekend through our stormy weather. It was perfect weather to “play” inside and I did just that. I stamped my little heart out and made few cards. I did not have any new product from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue as Australia post sent the order on a little detour (THANKS for that Australia Post) it arrived tonight so I can’t wait to get in and play.
One of the cards I made over the weekend was for Global Design Project, I spent Sunday crafting with my Mum, so I took the chance to use her Baby Bear stamp that she won at OnStage in Sydney back in April. The theme for this challenge at Global Design Project is get well.
What’s better, than a big bear hug when you are feeling under the weather, that was my thinking when I created for this challenge. I wanted to have a cute bear and message that I was sending a hug. I needed to great created with the greeting, joining two sets together; Sending is from Love & Affection and hugs was created from Labeler Alphabet… Which is the most useable and BEST stamp set that Stampin’ Up! have created.
You may notice the Old Olive gingham printed paper; that my friends, is retired DSP from the Farmers Marker range from our last Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. I had to use it! I just think teddy bears and gingham are a perfect match. At the start if the post, I commented that I was stamping with my Mum. Well, mother dearest can be a bad influence, I never (like NEVER) use retired products on cards for classes or my blog but she knew my love of bears and gingham so she pulled that paper out and encouraged me to use it for my card, which is also my class card for this week…. So knowing my ladies they will want to order the paper and sadly no longer can. I do think the paper is perfect however, might was right again!
Above is the inside of my card, pretty simple. A little sponging, ink splatter, gingham and linen thread. Some of my favourite things.
Below are the materials, I used… YES I really used 7 stamp sets, but only parts of them. Let me explain. Love & Affection was just “Sending” Timeless Textures was to add
Love & Affection was just “Sending” Timeless Textures was to add
Timeless Textures was to add “texture” to the cardbase, stamped in VersaMark. The image I used was the wood gain like design.
Swirly Bird, has the best link splatter.
Butterfly Basics, has a postage mark that I use on most of my vintage cards.
Thoughts & Prayers, also stolen from Mum’s collection and that was the greeting inside the card.

I’m still on the fence on the Teddy Bear stamp BUT I really love what you’ve done with it! I do like the cards I have seen using this set and yours is the best by far! Naughty Mum tempting you with retired product but you’re absolutely right gingham and teddies do go so well together! Who knows I may yet be tempted to give a teddy stamp set a new home! 🙂 x
I love it! I’ve been a lurker for a long time but you are amazing, Teneale!

You deserve some sort of award for this card. I love everything about it. You are amazing, Teneale!
Everyone needs a Bear Hug when they aren’t feeling the best! You have done it again (and I’m sure you will keep doing it)…I didn’t know if I really liked the Baby Bear stamp set (I know) and now I LOVE it. It’s on my next order!
An absolutely gorgeous and cute card. I agree with the gingham and yes, Mum was right again! Love it. xo
I love this little teddy as he reminds me of my childhood bear. I love the combination of products you have used and think the gingham really suits your beautiful card. You could always teach the ladies how to create a gingham look with masking and sponging. I look forward to getting my hands on him soon.
