A late. A very late card for the Global Design Project sketch challenge from Monday, I had a weekend of too much socializing and not enough working stamping, which meant the card sat on my desk almost completed until this weekend but I linked what I had started and wanted to complete the card to not miss the fun at Global Design Project (GDP). I am the sketch creator over at GDP and sometimes when the sketches come around, I ask myself what I was thinking! This sketch I was looking forward to, as it was on the easy side but I love seeing all the ways the elements can be taken as inspiration.
I am in LOVE with Timeless Texture Stamp Set it is hands down my favourite stamp set in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue I adore the flower images and even more the distressed images. The flowers are watercoloured with a blender pen in Cajun Craze ink with the leaves in Mint Macaron and surrounded by a light wash of Crumb Cake.
My trademark is adding little details but still keeping the design simple, playing with backgrounds and texture is something I do often. In the case, using the wood grain image from Timeless Textures stamp set with VersaMark in a crosshatch pattern then lightly sanded the surface with a fine sanding block, this removed a little of the ink and in parts the top surface of the cardstock to create this wonderful background.
I distressed the Washi Tape with the sanding block which had been attached to a little Very Vanilla cardstock. The final touch was once the card was assembled I added a few splatters of my Gold Wink of Stella on the card.
Your card is stunning. I love all the details and the background is amazing.
I love this card more than I can express with words. You are right – every detail is perfect. These flowers, the distressed washi, the background. Love it all!
I absolutely adore this Teneale. You are so so so talented. Breathtaking.
