Giraffe Crackers

April 25, 2009

I just think this card is SO cute and SO not ME but I just love it, How cute is that little giraffe? I just want to pinch his little cheeks {lol}. This is a set that I have just ordered to take me out of my comfit zone. I always use Flowers, Flourishes, Flowers, Quotes, Flowers or Butterflies and I try to avoid art-line images because I am scared of watercolouring but you know what? I always enjoy water colouring when I finally do it and I had so much fun with this little guy. I stamped the image onto Stampin’ Up! Watercolour paper then using a Blender pen and a “pool” of colour from a ink pad I watercoloured, To add greater tone I used a maker direct to the watercolour paper and lightly blended with a blender pen.

Materials used: All Stampin’ Up!
Stamps: Animal Crackers
Ink: Basic Grey, Basic Brown, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink
Paper: Sweet Always, SU Watercolour paper, Choc Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White
Other: Choc Ribbon and Blender Pen

So I have a big week ahead, I am madly getting ready for Stampin’ Up! Annual Convention which I am attending for the first time, My Dear Friend and Demo Superstar Marelle is demanding that I attend this year and I am excited as she will be presenting on the main stage, SO I am calling all Stampin’ Up! Demo’s attending to cheer really LOUD when Marelle takes the stage, even louder then when anyone else takes the stage. She is going to wow the crowds and show us the way to do it………..All together………GO MARELLE….
For me I have been debating the whole card swapping thing, To swap or not to swap? Well I was so close to not making any swaps but I am making a few however they are taking a lot longer then I expected with a few to many layers….

Thanks for stopping by my little blog ;9)

GO Marelle!!! I’m with ya Teneale……….on the marelle cheering thing and the swaps – I reckon I will only get a few done – bit too fussy about my cards these days, makes them all that too time consuming …… looking forward to seeing you there……hope you’ve got ya winter jammies ready LOL!!

You’re so funny…I wish you’d asked everyone to LEAVE while I’m presenting…then maybe I wouldn’t be so nervous!
Looking forward to being your Convention buddy. I’m so excited that you’re finally coming to one!!!

I had to go looking for this stamp set in our catty – not a stamp set I would use but I love how you have put it together.

I too had to go searching the catty for that stamp….isn’t it cute? Think that is going to have to go on my long list. I love what you did with him – the colours are so lovely together and the colouring in is fantastic!

Teneale – I love this card. Its sooooo cute and perfect for a baby card or young ‘uns birthday without being pastel and all soft and fuzzy….not that those are ‘bad things’ – I just love the funky colours and wow factor of this card.

Plus, you’ve done an amazing job colouring the image.
