I have a little secret that I need to reveal, I dislike hate colour challenges! I have always felt this way, I just do not like the colour limitation and often they are colours I would not use together. I do however like receiving a good challenge that pushes me outside my comfit zone. A few months ago my friend and fellow INKspired Artist made the suggestion of adding colour challenges to our INKspired rotation, at first I was like “that is a hard NO” it took a good night sleep I felt it was a great idea. This marks our second INKspired combo, which we do a little different to other colours challenges as have four colours to work with and each person can decide which colours they wish to use.
I have used Seaside Spray, Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand, plus we can add in Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Basic Black.
The colours are so soft and breezy, I wanted to use a stamp set that was “pretty” so I pulled out Beautiful Friendship Photopolymer Stamp Set to use. I have stamped the large rose (is it a rose?) using Seaside Spray Classic Stampin’ Pad and created a mask (basic masking explained HERE) to apply over the top before stamping the Mint Macaron leaves.
It has a little bit of a shabby chic feel, I added texture using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to the Whisper White layers which there is three off and then I stitched around the edge with my sewing machine.
You may look at the sewing and think it is a little wonky, but that was planned! I wanted that look. Promise.
The back layer of Mint Macaron Cardstock have the impression from the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder then wiped with Whisper White Stampin’ Craft Pad and splatted with Frost White Shimmer Paint.
The stitching continued inside the card, as to the paint splatter but this time I mixed Frost White Shimmer Paint with Whisper White Refill and a little rubbing alcohol (I use Isocol).
The greeting is for the inside and front is from Band Together Stamp Set and in both cases, I white embossed them on Sahara Sand Card Stock. The trim on the greeting is Seaside Spray 1/2″ (1.3 Cm) Scalloped Linen Ribbon.
