Happy Sunday to you all. Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the big bad internet… bad only because it can steal hours of my time without me realising! I know many of you can relate when you jump online to check emails and/or Facebook then end up on Pinterest a few hours later. With that being said, I do love the inspiration I receive from this time online.
Let me help you spend a little more time online getting inspired as you travel trough the INKspired blog hop for today. We have 9 cards all created around the sketch below, a sketch I designed to test the team, the intention is that the main panel is stamped then cut to make 2 pieces with the image carrying over both and a greeting along the bottom.
I will admit it made me think, I am suffering for the stampin’ blues at the moment, so I am not loving my card. The vision in my head was a little different to how it came out. Swallowtail is one of my favourite stamps, I just adore how large it is and the detail in the image.
I have kept it pretty simple in the respect that I have stamped the image in Basic Gray then water coloured using an Aqua Painter with ink from a squeezed Mint Macaron ink pad. I love the soft look of the watercolour wash over the image.
Regular readers would know on a INKspired blog hop I would normally lead into Barbara Willimas or as I call her Mum however as we celebrated our first birthday last fortnight I changed up the lineup for the next year, we are now going in last name alphabetical order which did not change my location as I am still at the end of the list… I really should have planned that better! Anyway, you are now off to visit with the hilariously funny Lisa Eaton
Here are the items used:
Beautiful work as usual.
It’s all just the amazing photography you know {wink, wink} love you.
Yes, you are suffering from ‘stampers blues’ – I highly recommend you stop stamping and posting your creation immediately. NOT!!!!! Every SINGLE week you blow me away. You just have a way with ink and paper like no other. I keep saying can I marry your brain and we are yet to arrange a ceremony!
The poor Swallowtail has been a little forgotten I think with the launch of the new Holiday Cattie and you have just brought her back to life…she’s beautiful. xo
YOU ARE SO FUNNY! OK I will stop…. happily! I really have been struggling.
I have been so focused on Christmas cards and I thought maybe leaving Christmas alone may help my mojo come back.
Wow, Love it as always. I was going to use the swallow tail as well but I would never have achieved the softness and elegence that you have. It was a perfect choice for this sketch. Teneale you are such an inspiration. Definite – CASE this one! xx
You are so sweet, thank you. I know you struggled with the sketch and at the start I was like, what was I thinking cutting the panel but in the end I liked the layout and made me think.
I was so close to using that swallowtail….. Love your card it is beautiful. Love how u are writing comments or how to on your cards – great work.xx
Thanks Maree, I had stopped writing the stamp set along the top until you said it was good and made it easier to identify the used item. I love getting feedback.
I love your card Teneale! love the water colour tip too! I’m also a sucker for spending hours on pinterest!
Oh the love, hate relationship I share with Pinterest!
Very pretty!
