The days are ticking down to Christmas, my tree is up and most of my Christmas shopping is done and my favourite part is wrapping which I will be doing this week plus I love wrapping so much I offer my services to family members. I am looking forward to slowing down a little over Christmas to spend time with my loved ones, it has been a challenging year, and I have never wanted time to re-energise my soul and nourish my creativity. 2016 will be bringing exciting and new changes and content here on the blog as I spread my creative wings embarking on a new direction.
Today is my beautiful Mum’s birthday, you may have just arrived from her blog as this post is linked into the INKspired blog hop. If you were there and did not leave a comment, I would LOVE if you could pop back and wish her a happy birthday, it would make her day if she got a bunch of comments. I think I have the worlds best mum but I guess she is in “my little world” as the years tick over, I see how much stronger she grows and how she continues to share love and compassion around freely, never asking for help or saying “poor me” when she really could. She is dealing with caring for a unwell loved one, and seeing them slip away, I catch her crying because she wants to help them to reduce their pain but knowing there is nothing. It is heart breaking and heart warming all that the same time, I often feel surrounded by people always wanting “more” and complaining about microscopic issues. I am proud to have the mum I do. I will share her birthday card in a later post as first I need to give it to her this afternoon. She will be having a low-key day, we have plans to both write-in our Christmas cards and my sister with her family will come to mum’s for dinner. Mum has required me to cook sweet chilli Salmon that is super yummy. Happy Birthday, mum, I adore you.
This blog post is getting long so I should move onto the INKspired sketch and card, the main reason you are here today. See below the sketch, I designed for the team to get INKspired from, a classic layout that I have used in varying designs over the years.
Here is my card, based on the sketch. Yes, it is Christmas again 🙂 I think I have only two more Christmas cards to share then I am done, I promise. I have used Berry Merry stamp set, that is on the Christmas retiring list and reduced to $22.50 which is a great price for this stamp set. I have spoken about my love of the chalkboard in the past and inspiration hit me when I was going through my Instagram to see the JOY image from this Berry Merry enlarged on a wall (here) in the home of the Stampin’ King and Queen aka Sean and Sara Douglass.
And inside of my card, you know by now I love to take elements from the front of my card inside.
The next blog to visit on this creative journey is Cherie Davies. The INKspired team are taking a break over Christmas and will be back Sunday January 10th.
Here are the items used in my card today.
