My first blog post for 2016. Welcome, I hope you all had wonderful celebrations over Christmas and new year. This will be an interesting year, 2015 just flow but no reflection it was a busy and eventful year and no doubt that this year will be the same. I have not stamped in also a month, that is a long time for me and it was a little bit of a struggle to get back to the flow, over my Christmas break I spend lots of time re-connecting with my pencils and paints which have been unused for many years. It was hard to push my drawings aside on my desk to pull out stamps, it was a slow start and as I said I struggled to find my stamping mojo but I HAD to get a card made for today! The first blog

It was hard to push my drawings aside on my desk to pull out stamps, it was a slow start and as I said I struggled to find my stamping mojo but I HAD to get a card made for today! The first blog hop with the INKspired artist’s for the year. You may already be on the blog hop if you arrived from Barbara Williams aka my mum or this is your first stop. Below is the sketch I made for the team, out first square sketch and pretty easy really.

#FirstWorldProblem Deciding what stamp set to use, I have so many new ones from the Occasions catalogue that just released just a few days ago. I decided on “Helping Me Grow” from page 20. The image has been coloured with a Blender Pen and ink for a squeezed ink pad, starting with Crumb Cake around the stamped image then Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant for the petals and Pear Pizzazz with highlights of Old Olive for the stem.

If you have been studying the catalogue you may notice my stamped image looks a little different. Well, I…. chopped the rubber to suit my card. I really should have taken a photo to show you how I cut the stamp, it is designed as three flowers (see below) but I separated the one on the left and also cut around the remaining flowers so I could bring them closer together. This a BIG plus to Photopolymer rubber.

The flower that did not get to co-star on the front still gets to make an appearance, just inside the card. This card is going to one of my SUPER talented stamping friends and see always WOW’s me with her creations so this greeting from Flower Patch is perfect for her.

The fun is not over, now you can hop over to the sweet and talented Lissa Carter  and see her creation using the sketch.

Love your colour choice, I harpy ever use WW, but it’s so pretty here in your card. Teneale, which DSP is the black one with the writing? I like it, too, but can’t place it. Thanks for the tip about cutting the stamp. I would not have thought to do this.

Love how you chopped the flower to suit your design. Your card is beautiful in my favourite purples – just gorgeous.

Teneale, you never cease to amaze me with your creativity! I don’t make New Year resolutions, but I really want to put more effort in to decorating the inside of at least some of the cards I make. Every time I’ve done it, I’ve felt that it adds so much to the card, even if it’s just a small strip of a patterned paper that coordinates with the front. Thank you so much for the wonderful inspiration you provide with this blog. All the best to you in the year ahead!
