I have to start by sayingHappy Mother’s Day to all the mum’s reading this post, I hope you are having a wonderful day and received a handmade card because really that is one of best gifts. The card I am showing today is the one my wonderful Mum is receiving, we have a big day planned starting with taking her out for breakfast, a movie, shopping {I hate shopping but she loves it} then a family dinner. I know she will just be happy to be spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
The card is based on the below sketch for the INKspired Artist blog hop, I design the sketches and I still have trouble with them! I change things all around but you will see that shorty….
If you look at the sketch and then look at my card you can see a little difference:
- I changed the shape- no rectangle here, I have used a circle and added a layer of vellum behind which I punch out using the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle
- I used a button as the circle element and moved it from the center to right of the card
- The greeting over the circle has two V points, unlike the sketch.
Normally I would show the inside however I typed the message up and attached it before photography, I adore my Mum #BestMumEVER and therefore my message was very heartfelt so I am keeping it for just her. I have added a pic of the envelope, I have added DSP with a little of the stamped Mint Macaron cardstock. The heart and MUM letters are from a Project Life accessory pack, called “Love Story” they were white die cut letters so I coloured them with my Mint Macaron marker before attaching.
I have used a new stamp set from the upcoming 2015/2016 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue, it is a hostess set which means the only way to get this set is to host a workshop and earn it for FREE. I have included the cover of the set to show I used just this one stamp set, the background was created by stamping the flower on the left of the cover with the top flower from the stamp image on the right, using VersaMark the images were stamped then clear embossed. Now I could have used just the bottom image as my Mum is a whole lot of lovely but I needed a layer across my circle for the challenge…. so I upgraded to FABULOUS.
The fun is not over here, we have more INKspired Artist who have used this sketch. Next up on the blog hop is Barbara Williams, who is the one receiving this card… #TenealesMumIsNext
I would normally have a list of materials used but so many of these items are sneak peek products and not on sale until June 2nd, so I am going to send you to check out the retiring product selection.
this is stunning Teneale, I love these colours & something tells me I’m going to like that stamp set… *want it now*
Beautiful card, Teneale! And a fabulous stamp set – I could see myself getting a lot of use from that one.
Teneale, you are naughty! You always take a stamp set I think I don’t need and make me want it soooooo bad! Love your card, it’s gorgeously pretty and elegant at the same time 🙂
Great card Teneale and love the colours. Thank you so much for making it for me. You could say, “whose the lucky girl” ………………….
Gorgeous card. Love how you have used the mint macaron. It’s even the colour on your blog before it was even released. Love the clear embossing.
