Yesterday, part of my amazingly talented downline team {called: INKspired Artists} held the fourth INKspired Blog hop based around this sketch below, I was not able to join in yesterday however I had already created my card so I thought I would post it “after the event” and point you in the direction for the “official” blog hop, I will post the link at the end of my post… I don’t want you leaving just yet! You need to read my blog first {wink, wink}.
What do you think of the sketch? I am the sketch creator for each of the blog hops and I really liked this sketch as it has a little room to get creative, the circle could be a bow or button, a circle or die cut with a image! I know a few of the girls struggled with this sketch but I have already hopped around and they have ROCKED the sketch, but I am not at all surprised as every session they just blow me away. We would love to have you use the sketch as INKspiration for a upcoming card. We have a Pinterest board we all update with our INKspired cards and sketches. Follow the board HERE
Well, you can see what I came up with based on the sketch design, what do you think? I did use a little creative license as I made the main section a little larger, I did not have the sketch in front of me as I was creating and I was going off memory.
I have used Stamp Set Tap Tap Tap from Stampin’ Up! Which I totally LOVE, I am a fan of typewriters and infact have been on the hunt for one to use with my memory keeping. I have stamped the main image using Memento Black ink then coloured the image with a mix of Stampin’ Blendabilities and Stampin’ Write Makers, I had a GREAT time playing around with the colours. I have used a combo of Coastal Cabana and the lightest Smoky Slate Blendabilities for the main typewriter, the parts that are just “gray” are the three tones of Smoky Slate. The VERY fine sections on the paper feed I used the pin tip of the Smoky Slate and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker.
Above you can see the inside design of my card, not too exciting however I have been told to still share the inside even if it is boring. You speak and I try to listen. The banner at the top is totally cute and this image also comes in Tap Tap Tap Stamp Set, some as the greeting to have used on the front and inside however the heart is from Holiday Home Stamp Set, it was the smallest heart image I could find in my stamp collection.
I don’t always stamp the envelope but I was enjoying making this card, I did not want to stop and I had a light bulb moment….. which does not happen all the time, but I realised I could cut out the letters to spell the recipients name which lucky it was only short. On the back on the envelope I have stamped the tap tap tap image. I know Kay will love getting this card.
Are you ready to see 8 more cards based on this sketch? I am going to start you off at the top of the list with the beautiful lady who normally followers me on the INKspired blog hop, Barbara Williams AKA Stamping Barb but I like to call her MUM 🙂
