Inspiration Challenge 21

April 30, 2010

vintage-rose-line.jpg

Its Friday again..…{YAY} the end of the week and Inkspiration challenge time again. I just wanted to say sorry to everyone that I have not uploaded many cards over the past three weeks, I have been a busy little chicken but I am happy to report I did get some stamping time in this week and have taken photos today so next week I will be back on track.

This week is a inspiration challenge….. when I first looked at the image, I straight away thought pretty, vintage and Roses, this is one of the easier inspiration challenges that Keesh has set and I can see lots of pretty cards being make this week. If you have never played along….go on… its fun, just go to Kirsty’s site for all the details and add your creation to Mr. Linky so we can check them all out.

Here is what I came up with, lots of stamping and no Pattern Papers! I have just used En Français Background stamp and the Flourish from Vintage Vogue on all three stamped layers, including a little En Français over the Rose layer. On the Brown layer I have added texture by sponging Close to Cocoa Ink over Close to Cocoa Cardstock then stamped the images in Chocolate Chip Ink. For the Pink layer I have clear embossed the images on Regal Rose Cardstock, sponged the edges in Regal Rose Ink then I did a little Emboss Resist by applying White Craft Ink over the Cardstock and wiped off the excess ink. I am really happy with the effect it has created.

I added this shot to try and show you the stamping detail over the Rose and also with the background when I stamp the En Français I have only stamped parts of the image, by having the stamp face up and placing the Cardstock on the stamp {which is the opposite way to how we normally stamp} I only rub parts of Cardstock which creates the “empty” sections were I have then stamped with the Flourish image….. get me???? Also on the Pink background when I embossed I did not worry about wiping away the excess embossing powder as I wanted that to stay because it added to the background effect.

Inside…. as you can tell mine is a Mother’s Day card because it felt like it had a Mother’s Day feel.
