Inspired Ghost

July 9, 2009

inspired-ghost-baja-line.jpg

My title for this blog entry makes me laugh because I am SO not inspired as you know but the “Inspired” comes from the stamps I used called “Inspired by Nature” which I just love, It is a stamp set that is SO easy to use and no matter what you do it looks ok. In an effort to get inspired and find my missing mojo I pulled out some old Technique notes and found notes on Ghosting and thought I would give it a go. It was a fun technique as all you do is brayer ink over Vellum and while the ink is wet stamp a “dry” bold image on the inked up Vellum and the image picks up the ink and creates this lovely and soft reversed image. It’s a great way to use up some vellum because I think every Card marker and even Scrapbookers have lots of vellum in their stash that is hardly used.

I have attached a little Printed Paper and ribbon on the main image panel, The background is just the Grass image from the Inspired by Nature stamp set which I have clear embossed to add a little pop.

This is beautiful. I just love this stamp set, there is so much you can do with it. The colours you have used are so lovely too! I must try this technique – just need to get me a brayer and some velum first.
BTW how did you stick the velum to the card? I have always had problems with this in the past and the glue marks showing through.

It may be a simple card, Teneale, but it is stunning and just another incentive to me to get that stamp set! This will definitely be one I try! Glad you are feeling better and hope you’ll soon be overflowing with mojo!!! Take care

Another quick question: I’ve just looked in the Stampin Up IBC and wondered which velum do you use, as they list a “white velum A4” and a “white velum A4 cardstock” – what is the difference?

    Teneale,
I love this card. The colours are so soft and lovely. Thanks for sharing the “ghosting” technique. Will add that to my bag of tricks to try when I’m on hols in the couple of weeks.
Seriously, so many new things to try and cards to case…..I’m not really gonna have much of a holiday. Instead it will be two weeks of solid “therapy” being surrounded by all my craft goodies.
Hope you feeling much better and are back to your ‘ol’ self soon.
You’re mojo should be on its way back soon too!! 😉

I’m gonna have to organise a time for a ribbon tut! Your bows and ties are always PERFECT!!
    Love, hugs and blessings,
    Michey xxx

Lovely card. Even when your mojo is down you still make fabulous cards. Think I’ll have to get this set too. Will own everything in catalogue soon, I swear! Hope you’re feeling better.

Love the card the colours are divine together, cannot wait to be able to do this class with you. Your attention to details is very unique, not found in many. Do not let others distract u, they want to be as clever as u

    Hi Teneale,

This is a beautiful card. I don’t know where you think your mojo has gone, because this card is wonderful. I haven’t used this technique before and will be trying it tonight. Thank you for the inspiration. I will hopefully have a card up tomorrow to show you what I have come up with.
