The most magical time of the Stampin’ Up! year is Sale-A-Bration (not sure what I am talking about? Click the link to read more) I mean receiving FREE craft product is pretty high on my list of things I love! This month for the Fancy Friday blog hop the team is highlighting our favourite product from the Sale-A-Bration range, mine is the So Hoppy Together stamp set, that may surprise you because it is not my normal style but it is more an emotional connection! My family nickname is Froggy. As a baby, I cried a lot and my father suggested that I sounded like a Bullfrog calling, as I grow the Bull was dropped and the nickname frog or froggy remained. Mum spotted the frogs in the Sale-A-Bration first, she very excitedly drew my attention to page 13. I was delighted that they are cute frogs.
I like how the arms of the frogs (in all three images) have their arms extended allowing for more elements to be added to the image. As I wanted to make a Birthday card for a little boy, I added a balloon from the Balloon Celebration stamp set. I have spoken previously about my love of Stampin’ Blends and how I enjoy colouring, that may also be a contributing factor to my attraction to the So Hoppy Together stamp set, I have used Old Olive Blends on the Frog and to add a little more depth I lightly added a little Old Olive watercolour pencil to the shadows of his boy by colouring in small circle, I should not I did not blend the pencil out, the water would make the stamped image bleed! I also added a tiny account of Real Red watercolour pencil to the lips, a fine detail but it does look great in real life (IRL)
A party needs a little confetti right? I created this using the Candles & Confetti Framelits Dies as shown below. I attached double-sided tape to Whistler White cardstock before cutting with the die and it made it much easier and cleaner than gluing after. It has created a dry embossed look.
While talking about detail, I trimmed the greeting banner with the edge of the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon, I just adore that peek of texture.
Inside the card. I have stamped a second frog image from So Hoppy Together Cling Stamp Set I stamped the crown which in this case is a party hat! Again, I used Watercolour pencils for the finer areas of the unicycle, like the chain and pole. I have carried the confetti inside the card. Not that it is showing well in the photo but the greeting is Silver embossed.
That is it from me.
