Maybe you should breathe deep for this blog post, it might get a little long-winded, I have a story to tell. Last week I was catching up with a friend and like most of my conversations lately, COVID was a hot topic, he spoke about the effect it is having on his business and commented that felt like he was drowning under the pressure of everything.
I replied with the first thing that popped in my head and being a Disney Fan
You know what Dory would say?
When life gets you down,
Just keep swimming
Just keep swimming
Just keep swimming
I think I even sang from the first line of Just keep swimming. I was feeling proud, I made him smile and even laugh at my terrible singing until 5 minutes later he asked who Dory was?
Thanks to Google I was able to pull up the clip from Finding Nemo on my phone.
I had been planning on making him a card to say, I am always here for coffee and a chat. Males are not always that into cards so I was questioning if I should just text and then I saw Global Design Project had an Aquatic theme challenge and that reminded me of the Whale Of A Time DSP.
When I started flicking through the Whale Of A Time designs I spotted a sheet of fish and turtles horizontally around the paper and that would work for the sketch at The Spot this week.
That is a tricky sketch but I am happy with the outcome. Can you see the swimming fish and turtles?
To make them look further in the background I placed White Vellum over the top embossed using Tasteful Textile Folder and sewed the edges. I also added White and Balmy Blue ink splatter.
No stamps were used in the card, which happens so rarely. The greeting ‘breathe deep’ is from Flowers For Every Season Memories & More Card Pack.
For inside, I typed up the words and printed it on Whisper White A4 Card Stock and went to town fussy cutting the tiny fish!
It was such a fun card to make.

This is absolutely genius! And as someone who has watched that movie more times than I can count, I would say you gave your friend very sound advice:) Love the card and the story behind it.
