Kiwi Tree

May 18, 2009

t-and-prayers-choc-kiwi-line.jpg

One of the many sets that I hoped we got in our New Catalogue was this set Thoughts and Prayers, I love the Tree and Vine images in the set plus the Greetings are so handy and greetings I did not have in my Stamp Stash. As per normal I have kept the colours fairly simple using only Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. SU! do not have a Kiwi Kiss Marker but I wanted to use Kiwi Kiss on the leafs with Chocolate Chip on the trunk and branches, So I first inked up the whole image with a Kiwi Kiss ink pad then with a Chocolate Chip Marker I went over the top of the trunk and branches, the Chocolate Chip covered fine over the Kiwi Kiss.

Side Note:
I have received many emails regards my brayering since posting THIS card last week, I am trying to respond to the emails but I just wanted to let you know I am also preparing a Video Tutorial so you can watch in real time as I brayer and I will share my tips that will make a difference to your brayering. That should be posted later in the week or early next week at the latest.

Thanks for stopping by.

Your card turned out so beautiful and elegant! I just thought I’d share a trick I learned at convention last summer: you can ink the tip of a blender pen and dip it in ink and then use as a marker to color on your stamp. You can also use it the other way around: ink all of your stamp with first ink pad, use a clean blender pen to take ink OFF of your stamp (let’s say the trunk here), and then color with your second color marker afterwards.

    HTH!
    Cindy 🙂

Teneale…..you really need to teach us how you get such gorgeous ribbon detail on your cards. I’m slowly improving my bow technique with each new card I do…..but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get a bow like you – esp not the perfect bow that was on your Convention swap cards!! *sigh*
