I am such a craft dork! I genuinely get excited when I find a new technique or a fun way of doing something. For many years I had seen people used alcohol inks to create fun backgrounds, they normally use alcohol re-inks and Yupo paper. As much as I loved the look, I was never that inspired to buy the supplies.
I started the notice a few Stampin’ Up! Friends using our Stampin’ Blends for a similar look! I finally played around and it is so much fun.
To start with you need a synthetic paper, I found Vellum was the perfect fit as they have non-porous so you don’t have to worry about the ink immediately absorbing and the pigment becoming locked in place. Using Stampin’ Blends colour sections of colour and with a paint brush apply 100% Isopropyl Alcohol. For those reading this in Australia I used the Diggers brand from Bunnings.
I did a 1 minute tutorial on my Instagram account check it out HERE and follow me over there as I will be posting more short reels and videos on my account.
I have used the new Meadow Dies for the leaf on the front and inside. You will see the white paint splatter which I love adding to most of my cards, it is just watered down acrylic paint.
I should not the hello greeting is a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp, it is a favourite of mine. I used to not post creations that had retired products on them but I decided I should because most of my readers take inspiration for my cards and use materials they have in their stash. Am I right?
