Next week is the start of celebrations for World Cardmaking Day Stampin’ Up! has extended the celebrations by offering items for sale from 1-10 October, you will need to pop back on Sunday to see the deals. The actual day is Saturday 7th October 2017, I am holding a World Card Making Celebration with Barbara Williams (aka my Mum) the event is in Old Mt Druitt (Western Sydney) from 1:30pm we are making 3 cards for $10, we have limited places email me HERE if interested.
When I was in my early twenties I had a job as a product buyer and designer for a theme park (can any of my Sydney readers remember Wonderland? ) when it came time ordering new products I had numbers to back up my selections to a point but partly I had to rely on a little “gut feeling” as my boss put it, I soon learnt the more I dislike the product, more popular the item would be. The same thing happens with Stampin’ Up! so often, I was really not a big fan of the Marbled Background that I am using below. I hold a card session with my Mum each month, it is great because my card ladies get to make cards with mum at her stations and her ladies with me, they are exposed to different products being used. Mum (see her blog here) is a big fan of the Marbled background and used the stamp for our monthly event in July and it has become our top selling stamp which makes her delightfully happy as if I had my way no one would have used it.
Seeing that almost all of my weekly card ladies ended up ordering the stamp I felt the need to show them different ways to use it.
The first card we made was this Christmas card featuring the Carols Of Christmas bundle. Stamp the Marble background image on Gloss cardstock in Night of Navy ink and lightly dust Gold embossing powder over sessions then heat emboss. We then sponged Night of Navy ink over the surface, the Gloss cardstock is so important as it keeps the ink wet that little bit longer than normal cardstock.
I have more to come using the Marble background plus make suggest mum should blog the card that started everyone loving this background stamp!

Just stunning!
That background is A-mazing, T. Just love th whole card too. Can’t wait to see what else you make with the stamp. Guess I better order it before everyone orders it to try this too. 😁
PS. Barbara – get blogging too 💕
