I struggle to create masculine cards, I just like all the pretty stuff! I mean flowers and bows don’t work so great on a card for dad. This month the Dream Theme Team are sharing masculine card ideas, it is only a small blog hop this month but we have some amazing ideas to share with you… if I do say so myself!
Every so often I design a card that is detailed to the extreme! This card is one of them, my class ladies can stand testament to that, each week we normally make two cards in under 2 hours. This week every class has been over 2 hours and we were making only this card, a few ladies had to go home with homework. They all loved the card, it was so quiet as we worked, normally we chat and laugh as we create but everyone was silent and focused.
We started by water colouring the grass and sky before moving onto the truck, the colouring took about 40 minutes before we moved onto fussy cutting. The windows have been cut out and a little clear window sheet added to make it look like glass. The banner has been embossed and distressed, I love the little route 66 that has also been lightly embossed with gold embossing powder and I pulled out the sawing machine for a little stitching.
Many stamps were used in the creation of this card, the main stamp set was Country Livin’ which is the pickup truck image. Sheet Music background stamp was used on the background, which I have heat embossed with a sprinkle of clear and gold embossing powder. The Route 66 is from One Wild Ride stamp set and the image used inside the card is also from that stamp set.
Next up on the Dream Theme blog hop you are heading to artful Amy Koenders from the United States
