There are many reasons why I love cardmaking but the number one would have to be sharing the experience with my mum, she has always been my biggest supporter and believed in me more than I do myself. My cardmaking passion stepped up to the next level when I joined Stampin’ Up! 11 years ago, seeing how much I loved the creative journey I was taking, her interest developed in cardmaking and joined my team 7 years ago. Our relationship has become so much richer for sharing stamping together. I see how far her cardmaking has come and even flourishing confidence. She holds weekly card classes that have double the attendees then I have and she has formed the most relationships through her classes. I am delighted to start a fun with blog bounce with this beautiful, strong, creative, amazing woman I blessed to call Mum. For the next 12 weeks each Friday we are joining together to share a Christmas project showcasing the same stamp set, you can see two different looks at the same set.
This week I selected the stamp set we would use, next week it is Barbara’s choice! I decided on Merry Patterns what is part of this months hostess promotion, or order Stampin’ Up! through Barbara aka Mum or myself in October to enter the draw to win one of these sets, this is on top of a thank you gift and card that you will receive. Shop online HERE and enter hostess code DRPD46VU at check out.
I love the reindeer outline, as soon as I saw the set I had a vision of what I wanted to create! Using the Be Merry DSP the outline was stamped with the Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad and fussy cut. The card front of Garden Green cardstock has been embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder it was the first time I have used this folder and Mum pointed out to me that you should spray a little water on the cardstock before embossing as the folders are deeply edged. Donna from the Training team at Stampin’ Up! has a few other tips that I also found helpful, see the video HERE.
Behind the greeting is ruffled music note paper Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper.
Inside the card. The ‘Tis the season’ images look amazing! I strongly suggest a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the infill.
Now it is time to bounce over to see what Mum/Barbara has created.
They are lovely Teneale.
I see your beautiful cards and I just want them to be mine. I am so excited that you and Barb are going to be counting down to Christmas. I look forward to the weekly inspiration!
