I have something exciting to share! I have finally become fancy, yes my friends I have joined a group of my Artisan Friends (past and present Artisans) for a monthly blog hop, if you have arrived from Sylwia Schreck then you know the drill and can skip this whole paragraph and head straight to the eye candy (the photos). In this blog hop the challenge was to share our Christmas cards we make making to send to friends and family, at first I was like ‘I don’t create just one design and make 100 cards, I have a short attention span! I have to skip the hop’ that is true, but I do kind-of mass produce if you call no more than 20 bulk. I make the same card for smaller groups of people and often based around a gift I am giving them, I take matchy-matchy to a new level sometimes. About this point, I hope my family and friends actually don’t read my blog because they are going to see their card and gift or be disappointed that they did not get this one over the one I created for them… oh, well.
Do you know where this is going? When you think of Candy Canes, are you like me and see a red and white twisted stick confectionery? In this case, my mind when straight to the bundle in the Holiday mini on page 20 (No, I did not remember the page number at the time) called Candy Cane Season. That was just the set I was going to use. I popped them in a jar, ribbon and made a cute little tag.
For the card, I was taking all the direction from the colours in the jar, we have Garden Green, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and a little Real Red.
One of the stamps I love in the Candy Cane Season stamp set is the background of little Ho! Ho! Ho!’s that I have clear embossed which does not show that great above but like super IRL (in real life)
Here is inside the card, I am not big a writing to much! I think I have should my effect by making a card, my ugly handwriting just takes away for the beautiful Stampin’ Up! image designs I stamp.
I am in the process of making 18 of these, well 18 jars and two different cards.
Do you want to see my friend that makes this so much easier?
The Stamparatus! I just lined up the two stamps on the arms of the Stamparatus and stamped out 18. Eight for this card and 10 for a different design that I will show later.
I also had a little help cutting them out using the Candy Cane Builder Punch
I have come to terms with the fact that not all my friends care that much about my cards (if they are reading this they will laugh and they know who they are) I just don’t give them a card that takes me too long. They are getting this one, a very simple but I think effective card.
Next, you are headed to Mindy Backes I am so excited to see what she creates
