This post is being typed by a very sleepy stamper who sat up all night making items to sell at markets next weekend, I keep falling asleep at my desk as a work and would SO love to jump into bed! I am pretty sure I will be having an early night tonight. One the up side what I have made is just super cute and I am so happy with what I made.
It is CASE Study time again with Julie Lacey as our muse for September, I have loved Julie’s work for years and she is so gifted, you just know her cards straight away because she has such a defined style that is her own, it is clean layers that are always SO well designed. To the left is Julie’s card for this week….
What inspired me from Julie’s card?
The colour combo, so not colours I have EVER used together before and to be honest without Julie’s inspiration maybe I would never of put Pool Party, Wild Wasabi and Peach Parfait together…BUT they really work!
Triangles! When I do a CASE Study I write down at least 3 design elements for the card and this time one was triangles, notice on Julies card how she has the 2 triangles on the background! Well my banner was inspired by that.
Stitching! That one is easy to see on Julie’s card, I used that stitching element by selecting a stitched ribbon.
Layout, I was very relaxed in my case of the layout but I had to make do with “tools” I own, I love the pretty label shape Julie used but I have nothing like that is my “stash” so I used an oval shape. I always like to layer on my cards but I noticed on Julie’s layout the top and bottom are clean edges and the left and right edges have layered edges….so I also did that…..
After reading all that here is my Julie inspired cards:
Inside……
