Sailing

March 9, 2012

Just sailing in to do a quick blog post to start the weekend! This card would be perfect for a male’s birthday which is a occasion that many cardmakers struggle to creating. The set I have used is from the Australian Summer Mini called “The Open Sea” and the greeting is from “Perfectly Pinned” from the main IBC. For me it was quite a fast card to create I stamped many of The Open Sea images in VersaMark on the Not Quite Navy card stock and sponged the edge. The ship was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla and lightly water coloured with a Crumb Cake ink using  an “old” blender pen, yeah I did say old... and dry! So the Early Esspresso ink does not bleed when watercolouring with the Crumb Cake ink, it gives it a ruff look also which looks wonderful with this style card. For the large square of Very Vanilla I stamped the “log” image in Crumb Cake and sponged the edges, I then crumbled up the card stock in my hand then flattened it out then stitched the edge.

"Teneale Williams" "The Open Sea" "Male Birthday"

Inside the card, very basic with light background stamping in Crumb Cake ink of the Log image from Open Sea, the other two images are also from the open sea. I have a little splodge happening from “French Foliage” adding that vintage look.
