I feel like I have been missing in action! It has been a crazy couple of weeks, I picked up a horrible case of the flu that had me in bed for a solid week and I am still coughing 4 weeks later. I have not stamped in weeks which is very rare for me, lucky I had made my card for the Fancy Friday blog hop before I got sick. The theme for this round is florals, which is my favourite kind of images.
I have used Beautiful Friendship stamp set from Stampin’ Up! the images are watercolour painted flowers and I have used the faux silk technique, I wanted to do something a little different and I was so happy with the outcome. If you have not heard of this technique, please allow me to share more information with you. You stamp your image on tissue paper, I have used white but you can use other light colours. Fill the surface of the tissue paper and this could be stressful for some but you are going to crunch the tissue paper in your hands and then attach to a card front of cardstock, I apply a generous coating of glue (a child’s glue stick) to the cardstock. This is one of the only times we want to have little wrinkles (not on our face but the paper).
I soften the look wiping the Craft White Ink Pad over the surface and stitched around the edges of the layer. You may notice a little paint splatter also.
Inside the card, I have white embossed the greeting and added a little whitewash over the top of the crumb cake layer.
Now is time to hop around to see what the other Fancy Fridays team members have created starting with Elizabeth Price
Stunning, friend! Perfect technique for this theme!
