Stepped up "Plain Frame"

November 16, 2009

winter-post-stepped-up-line.jpg

I am stepping it up…. well stepping up my card, Yesterday I posted a very clean and simple Christmas card that is a great card to make in bulk this Christmas season but I thought it would be fun to show you what it looks like with a bit of ribbon and a few more layers because if you have been following my blog for a while you would know I love my layers and ribbon. This card is perfect to make for a special few.

Just to remind you of the clean and simple version:

Here it is stepped up, Can you spot the difference? Lol This time it is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

And any stepped up card needs to be completely finished with a pretty inside.

I am really happy with both cards, In many of my cards I use lots of layers, sponging and ribbon because my style has changed over the years as I used to have a very clean and simple style using very few layers like the first card but still using lots of ribbon. I have come so far in the past few years with my work and style, hugely because of Stampin’ Up! for their fabulous products {I always say it’s the products that make my cards look good not so much me} I have been able to leave my full time job to become a fulltime Papercraft Tutor and SU Demo, I wake up everyday loving what I am doinbg. I want to thank everyone who reads my blog, the ones who leave me comments or emails me because I really, really appreciate it. I sometimes hate blogging because it can take so much time and some weeks I am just so busy I struggle to fit everything in but sometimes the comments keeps me going and wanting to update my blog {no pressure to comment now but} I am sure others who blog themselves and read this know what I am saying {gee I hope so}. WHY am I saying all this? Well I have no idea, I think looking at the two cards has made me realise how far I have come in the past 3 years. I was very, very close to leaving Stampin’ Up! last month as they refined some demo rules which I do agree with them doing this, but I would have been breaking some of the refined rules so I was struggling all October with what to do as Stampin’ Up! is so much more then Stamps to me, It is my living, I live and breath Stampin’ Up! it is such a huge part of “me” I could not give that up, It has helped guide me to a place in my life that I thought I would never be and I am very grateful for that.

Well that’s enough from me for today I think I am best to stop at this point, But I have more Christmas cards for you this week…. 🙂

Teneale, your cards are beautiful, the inside as well as the outside. If I ever get to Australia, on my bucket list, I’ll have to come for a workshop.

Love the stepped up version just as much as the original! Both totally gorgeous cards, as always! So glad you are staying with SU; we need talent like yours to inspire us! TFS

Well, Teneale, I’m really glad that you decided to stick with SU! Both of these cards are gorgeous, the clean & simple so effective for workshops or mass producing and the stepped up version something special to give to special friends. I also just wanted you to know that even if I don’t comment on every post, I’m certainly reading and being inspired by each one, so much so I nearly ordered snow swirled last week after seeing those beautiful cards you created. Why didn’t I, cause I’ve got too many sets which I haven’t even used yet!

Teneale, I love to stop by your blog and see what you have been up to. I love the fact that each card you create has a little peice of you in it, you alway create them so carefully, they are not just “slapped” together. You are such an inspiration to us all, don’t ever doubt that!

    Hi Teneale,

I thought the simple version was spectacular and can’t wait to make it tonight, but this stepped up version is absolutely EXQUISITE! It would be a sorry day if SU! ever lost you, as you are, without a doubt, one of its greatest assets in showcasing its wares.

Well I was so pleased to read your post this morning (arrived here from Marelle’s site as I am wowed by the acetate cards ….) I had heard from a couple of stall holders at CraftExpo that you had left SU and I thought would have been a terrible loss for us all. As a newbie demo I feel the passion you have for SU and wondered how you would manage to let that go. Thank goodness you haven’t – you are an asset and a mentor for demos just like me – thank you :o)

I love love love visiting your blog. Your cards are just so beautiful. They just look so ‘finished’ – you give them that little extra pizzazz and a touch of magic. Thanks so much for sharing them.
    🙂

Hi Teneale, I am so glad you are sticking with SU! I always come here and get amazed by your talent and diversity, I come away inspired everytime and come back again and again. Having said that I don’t always run to my desk and make a card but I know that I can stop by and check it all out again! So keep up the good blogging work! Thanks Jane
