Way to go…

February 6, 2010

way-to-go-line.jpg

I was very lucky that when I was younger my wonderful Mum bestowed a good saving ethic with me and I am very grateful for that, so Mum and I are teaching my money hungry niece Bailey {who is 4} about saving. Bailey loves “collecting” money and because she is so cute and quite cheeky she has lots already…. She has a money box at her home and also one at my house when ever any of us have our wallets out or talk about money she runs and grabs her money box and just kind of “shakes” it in front of us and asks if we want to give her “dollars” with a cute face…. I am the one the caves the most and then empty out my purse, when I realised how much I was giving her I thought the kid needs to work for it {I did}, So now we have a deal if she has a “nanna nap” every afternoon at day-care she will get $3 at the end of the week. Well it took a few weeks but last week she finally earned $3, so I made her a card to say “Way to go” and give her the money.

I attached the coins inside with a bit of tape, her eye’s lit up when she opened the card and saw her “Dollars”.

The set I used is from Stampin’ Up! but at the back of the Idea Book & Catalogue in the accessories section on page 141 and both the Star and Greeting are from this set, The papers are from My Minds Eye

What a great aunty you are! The card is fab (love the colours and papers) and the caring sentiment behind it even better. Way to go Aunty Ten!

Just gorgeous Teneale! I especially love the way you have displayed the ‘dollars’. What a lucky little girl.

Gorgeous!! I bet she was so chuffed to have such a special card from a special Aunty. Isn’t this what it’s all about?

What a great card! Love the popped up frame with the cute little star! That designer paper is so pretty too. I’m from the US, and I’ve never seen Australian money before. I love that your dollar coins have kangaroos on them:) Hope you don’t think I’m too silly for saying that;)

Oh this is soooo soooo cute Teneale!! And a great idea for making the ‘dollars’ mean something too and not just us ‘growned ups’ handing out money, money, money.

That is such a great idea Teneale! The card is gorgeous and very fitting for the beautiful Bailey. My kids think they should just get the money and not do the jobs. I think they should just do the jobs cause they love me. 🙂 I know, it doesn’t quite work like that though, does it?!!!

Wow, your money is so much cooler than ours! Looks like old gold coins or something… What a great way to present your niece with her dollars! 😀 Fab idea!
